What happened here wasn't keeping up with the show, I watched The 9 version last year that was great so many characters
You had to buy a specific type of milk in order to vote for your faves. Which lead to a fans buying this milk and wasted it. The government already had an eye on Idol survival shows and after this incident they decided to ban them. So YWY had to end without the final being aired.

I just googled because this is also news to me. Found this in a Malaysian paper. Apparently there was never a clear reason? Many speculations though

They went Next Level in making people buy products here, what a shame these shows are high quality really entertaining the Chinese invest so much in them
