Oh, for sure I think the MV for Black Mamba borrowed heavily from things like K/DA. It was not very subtle. But the song itself was ok and enjoyable. On the other hand, I think Next Level is kind of a mess but the song is a success so what do I know?
It's funny because I often heard 4th gen groups like Everglow and such didn't click so much with the Korean audience because they tried too hard to cater to the international audience with their music direction, which Koreans were not so fond of. Yet aespa scores a hit with a song that is straight up Western pop. It's kinda puzzling.

But the core of the song is straight up a remake of a Western pop song, almost entirely left as is. They even kept the singing-talking of the original which is not very k-pop like. And to me, Next Level is nothing like I Got a Boy. But if people like it, good for them.
