itzy (undoubtedly and the only group I can 100% say about they're one of the leaders in that gen)
I-dle (if korea forgives and move on tho)
Aespa (they have just one song so far and it's early to judge but well, they have the hype and the big company behind them, an interesting concept that catches people's attention, I think they'll grow big)
And now, maybe stayc could enter top 3 if idle falls out but otherwise I don't see them becoming as big as itzy or aespa

Honestly when I think of big 3 I just think of t best 3 GGs usually it’s from big3 because it’s of privilege but if a non Big3 company does better than a big3 group they should be in big 3 me thinks

well in that case currently as of currently...not potential not based on talented but objective sales, charting, streaming YT etc...
then it's
third is where it gets difficult...
we have to eliminate groups with no album sales ie. Aespa
we have remove groups who debuted this year or late last year since they don't have enough "big" songs...
therefore we have groups like EG, Loona fighting for third...

I agree with you.
Popularity should be evaluated by geographics: Korea and International.
For popularity in Korean, the metric used should be K-Charting.
For popularity Internationally, the metric should be Spotify.
Just because a group charts well in Korea doesn't mean they are popular internationally and similarly, just because a group is doing well on Spotify doesn't mean they are doing well in Korea.
Also, album sales don't necessarily translate to gaining popularity, but it definitely means they gaining more committed fans.

But undeniably, both GIDLE and ITZY are definitely leading the 4th Gen GGs. On both domestic and international front, they are leading. ITZY leads international while GIDLE slightly have the edge at domestic (might change with the scandal).
No real powerhouse yet in Korea. Internationally, Everglow and Loona are potential candidate. Aespa, too early to say.

Knowing Aespa is from SM, the chances of them not being a top 3 4th Gen GG is miniscule.
