No you can also sample music lyrics or reference them in your music. Again rappers do it all the time, in fact most rappers sample a whole song as the backtrack and rap new lines to it, but it still has the old lyrics (Usually the chorus) in the song. Did you know Biggie's Juicy was sampled and Loadssssss of other songs and again IRENE did the exact same thing in dumb dumb, using Leave me alone, Man in the mirror and black and white, which were all used by Michael Jackson tackling racism and overcoming racism discrimination (minus leave me alone), again let's not try this please

Not really, SM of all companies works very closely with western producers so they certainly would have properly sampled a verse of all things, there are a ton of producers that overlap, it’s part of the rap art usually. Also they were hyping up her rap skills so they def would have checked in terms of music.

Giselle's sampled line was no secret and rap and lyrics cannot be compared to clothing. You can't own words, unless Champagne in your chalice was Janelle's signature line which is wasn't. Whereas certain clothing styles are obviously brand image, so again replicating it is silly.

Obviously when this issue came up I didn't say anything about it, because I personally don't care, nor do I really consider it plagiarism. But since we are discussing SM, it's a fact that there were several "plagiarism" incidents circulating around Aespa's debut. Fans of these artists react in different ways. Some get very agitated like kpop fans, some just want credit to be shown, others don't care.

I also wouldn't consider these "little things" because SM actually responded to one of them publicly. I'm sure SM handles other issues behind closed doors, but we just don't know. The Janelle line could have been one of them, and we aren't aware what measure SM took. But my guess is they might have told Giselle to put the rapping on hold

You can't plagiarise A RAP LINE omg, what are you not getting. Had Giselle stolen a whole verse or the whole song then yes, it's plagiarised, but that wasn't the case so stop reaching. She clearly was inspired and added that rap line to her lyrics, whether it was discussed with the original person who said that line, will never be known. SM have done serval shady things and I'm not defending that, but that's not part of it so stop trying to conclude it could be. It's obviously not or all rappers will be getting sued for "PLAGIARISING" each other
