She doesnt dance or perform well enough to me. I watch Itzy and the girls are absolute monsters onscreen, their love for dance and performing shines through the screen. I think Chaeyoung just isnt all that interested in the performance aspect of idol life, i think her wheelhouse is more like her idol Justin or other acts that are more focused on chill vibes with RnB style music. I think a combo RnB/chill rap song is right for her.

Pretty much this. I get what OP means and I think Chaeyoung would suit itzy in theory but she can't really keep up dance wise. She used to be such a great performer on sixteen when given a strong concept but she's a lot more laid back now and I haven't seen a super strong performance from her in years tbh.

Also, a big part of chaeyoung's talent is her writing. Itzy hasn't been allowed to write any of their songs yet while chaeyoung was allowed to write for twice since debut.

Actually it is an interesting idea but imo she wouldnt thrive much better but not much worse either. She would always be Son Chaeyoung regardless of which group she is in.
