Kpop fans vs Italian kpop fans argument over itzy's mafia concept summarised.

To be honest, I did not know that the Mafia concept was from Italy, I thought it was something that was everywhere. Like M&M's.

Why hasn't Swedish House Mafia been cancelled yet? Why did they use the word "Mafia" as as aesthetic? How dare they invalidate the feelings of Italians
Guys lets cancel them

I am half italian and albanian in addition to being half Cherokee... both 1/4ths of my blood line other than the Native, have mafias in them at some point down the family line and I am not bothered by this. They are not glorifying the violence. It simply seems to be a "in love with a bad boy" song.

I cooka da pizza ...
Yeah I need to save my brain cells for uni work, I'm out

mafia originated in Italy, but it is present in almost all countries in the world currently... there are countless of songs, movies and photoshoots inspired by mafia and I don´t see a reason why people are so sensitive

I was discussing this issue with someone else on this forum like a couple of days ago...

not them making it worse by using stereotypes

Has Italian kpop fans ever been bothered by the “maffia game”? It’s been around forever. 🤔
Exactly. Like the whole cult classic godfather franchise and shows like the sopranos didn't exist. Itzy is the root cause of the problem lmao.

Went on the Italian sub Reddit and they posted this. From a translating site it seems like they hate Twitter lol and it’s not an issue. One even said it’s based on a game and not the organization.
Not sure though. If any of you are Italian it would be nice if you can translate.

What if a group of cute Asian girls appropriating the mafia name for silly music was a bigger slap in the face of the real life actual mafia than all the rants people put up about this?
-
I'm italian (I mean actually italian living in Italy) and while it's pretty clear that "real" mafia shouldn't be glorified or romanticized (I know damn well the shit they do and how that trashy people are involved in our public life, I don't agree with people diminishing all that saying that mafia isn't a problem here) it's also clear that Itzy is just using that word in a pretty different context and also we haven't even heard the song and seen the mv yet.... I really don't think it's that serious
Btw cooka da pizza>>>>cooka da meatballs (and pizza is better too, as long as it's without pineapple)
-
Of course it was a BBH-L

I think no one does though, that's the point. Yet there are always people who want to connect dots that have no business to be connected.
