ADP = the underdogs and misfits of K-pop

I wouldn't say underdog, but more like a new type of k-pop group. They clearly won't follow the typical k-pop group path where the boy can't look at the girl bc fans will go crazy, where they need to look like perfect korean dolls in a display case bc this is what "fans" want.

And their concept of "I'm better than them" will hurt k-pop fans feelings when k-pop fans are the epitome of "MY FAVES ARE THE BEST AND BETTER THAN ANY OTHER KPOP GROUP OR IDOL" like fans can drag any idol as inferior, but the moment an idol or a group say they are the best... wait wait wait, you are not supposed to say it! You should be "humble" like my faves.

David33 is this true? Are ADP the biggest underdogs since Mamamoo? Bigger?

The problem isn't them saying "We're better." the problem is that they can't prove it.

I NEVER said 2NE1 or Bigbang were "UNTALENTED". I said, they weren't PERFECT, no one is, not even my 3 ults, SNSD, MAMAMOO and Red Velvet. And I also NEVER said ADP members are untalented. I literally said, Woochan is a decent rapper, the only rapper of the group, Bailey is a great dancer, Annie has great potential because her vocal tone is something I really like and she's already better "rapper" than Disney kdi, and Yeonsou or whatever her name is an okay Idol singer. Not average but not bad.

2NE1 never had a "I'm the Best" concept. They had a song called "I'm The Best". They released it in 2011, 3 YEARS after their debut btw. 😂

Day6 started by busking in clubs and didn't had those huge stages and money thrown at them.

Their debut stage is literally here, with a small group of fans and had double digits first day sales

They slowly worked their way to the top through their passion for music, dedication to their craft, and of course love from the fans and general public.

ADP misfits? Yeah maybe. Underdog? No

I can't view a group that started off strong with known idols as underdogs. That's okay because not every group needs to be underdogs. I think part of the group's appeal is being misfits because they are a good counter for what the public perceives how 5th gen idols should act.

Agreed, I don't think any group that debuts in a big 4 company or a company as large as TBL should be considered an underdog. I think a group like H1-Key is what I would consider an underdog. They're from a smaller company and their debut album sold under 500 copies. Now they're a group that is charting and they sell a decent amount of albums.

Anyone who's under a company that is smaller than mid-size (like CUBE or TBL for example) are underdogs.

Most Kpop groups under small agencies can't survive. I mean, just look at Purple Kiss. RBW was made by MAMAMOO, they're not poor anymore, yet PURKI disbanded after 4 years.

And they're not even the nuguest of them all.

Can't we have a megathread about them at this point. All the threads about ADP are about the same thing with the same people arguing.

I'm sorry. I don't think a group can be underdog when it's from a big and well-known label. It's not easy for anyone, I agree on that, but they are not underdogs.
