Is this what they call peer pressure?
It really depends. For example in blackpink’s case the members were promoting solo and there was always the notion that they’d be back.
But like in new jeans case where they’re basically dead and gone with no sighting it would not be the case.
In one case people expect that the group maintained their popularity in the second case the expectation is more that they’re done for. So it’s all about perception. “They’re taking the time with the comeback” vs “this group is done for and may or may not comeback”

NewJeans haven't even been around for 3 years, and they had nothing but hits the entire time they were active. I don't see how they're relevant to the scenario.
BLACKPINK had hit songs literally every comeback as well from debut as well.
Is this what they call peer pressure?
Yes. I'm watching
Yes.
They are actively promoting and releasing albums for 5 years but have zero hit songs during that time frame.
At no point are they in hiatus or dealing with legal troubles.
No, that doesn't make sense. While we can argue about the qualities of a top group, they should be able to chart at least ince in 5 years if they are still active.
It's different for inactive groups, but inactive groups really shouldn't be called top groups anyway. I believe it should be reserved for promoting acts.
It depends on what you qualify as a top group. For instance, Twice hasn’t had a high ranking song for a while, however, they have been performing really well on tours and selling well as well.
If a new girl group didn’t have a hit in their first 5 years then no I would say they are not a top girl group. However, when you have a legacy of hits and other aspects of your career is going well then I would say yes you are still a top girl group even without a mega hit song.
I'd like to correct you, Yama.
TWICE has had no hits *in SK AND, I can already guess your measurement of whether or not a song is a hit is charts. Again, charts should be the least prominent factor in deciding a top group.
But I'd like to see you convince Japanese Onces that TWICE has had no hits in the last 5 years.
Twice?
Yes.
petty af
No. You can't be the current top if you haven't had a recent hit, sure past hits can make you former "top group" but that title isn't indefinite. The longer groups go without releasing a hit, the greater the depletion of their reputation and legacy, hence why it's best to keep releasing hits (easier said than done), or go out on top.

You are marginally less clueless than David. I'm not sure why you think your opinion matters or has merit.
It doesn't.
I think he is more clueless, he said i was a hater even tho i am a big Sakura fan just because i said singing isn't her strong suit and he can't sing well, and her strenght is in her charisma and how funny she is in variety, and he couldn't admit Sakura isn't a strong vocalist, some people delulu themselves when they really like a group

The try-hard energy is strong in that one.
And people seriously delulu themselves. Nobody would dare question my adoration and admiration for Mamamoo, but when I saw how ILLELA charted (it charted better than Talk That Talk by the way), I knew their time at the top had come to an end, after a wonderful run of chart topping song after chart topping song.
And I'm happy with their legacy and accomplishment. But I absolutely wouldn't want to pathetically cling to their status from their peak years.
Oh but it has enough merit for you to reply with a defensive front that fools absolutely no one.
Just don't start crying when people compare you with David when here you are, unable to handle a differing opinion because you're convinced you're right when in reality, you're simply being a loser shamelessly trying to belittle a group because YOU perceive their accomplishments as less/a threat.
Just like your twin bro
"I don't like your use of facts that prove my entire hackneyed surmisal wrong, so I'm going to disregard all the evidence at face value and call you clueless, because I can."
Never change, Yama.

That's nice.
Shut up. You're boring, try-hard, unoriginal, stale and completely undeserving of any serious consideration for even the most half-hearted effort at a debate.
You have a lot of rough edges to smooth out before you can earn the privilege of my interest.
Request denied. Nobody has more adaptability than yours truly. The real question is how a group that couldn't adapt its sound and maintain their listening base, let alone bring in new listeners, is still treated as if it hasn't been a half decade since their last huge hit song.
I'm just asking people to remove their emotions and be honest. NO girl group would get a pass for that. Nor should they.

you after JUSTVIBING hit that sour spot with the NJs remark:
the Yama vs Onces war we've all been waiting for
I refuse to vote because while i think SNSD is more legendary, TWICE is still legendary in their own way and still a top group considering they are 3rd gen
SNSD is more lengendary but can’t ever hold a stadium concert anywhere not in Asia. SNSD isnt more or less legendary. They are less hated. Twice has been consistently active to an extent no girl group ever has been over 10 years. SNSD hate has had a chance to fade and the group allowed to enter legendary semi-hiatus status. Twice is still as active as many 5th gen girl groups. The active hate is still there.

Adapt to this, son.
