Would you call BLACKPINK a talented group? 60

I would say that some are. Lisa is a talented dancer, Rose a singer, etc. Are they talented relative to the rest of the field? Lisa has always been praised as one of the better female dancers of her generation, so I would say that she is. Same for Rose. I didn't pay too much attention to Jennie or Jisoo during their active idols days, so I can't really speak to their talent at any one thing though.
Talent does not mean being the best at something, it's typically just meant as being more naturally inclined towards a particular skill than others. So yea I would say being able to debut amongst all other trainees would imply that you are talented in something at least. That would mean each member of BP is talented, and so is the group as a result.
afcorse not GOD

I don't know how many threads I can say this in, but the answer is a resounding no. Seemingly famous for being famous at this point, they are the epitome of socialite/influencer culture within Kpop. Not since Paris Hilton has such a complete lack of genuine talent been stretched so far. They could be the worst Kpop idols in literally every way and they would still be uber popular, because their fans have no standards or expectations whatsoever. Hell, they don't even expect new music from a supposed music group, so of course they aren't going to have any problem with the same song being repackaged for the umpteenth time, and then either lip synced countless times or sung so poorly you wish they were lip syncing. And don't even get me started on the audacious laziness.
agree with your take.
They couldn't be this popular if they are untalented. Are they the best singers? Rappers? Dancers? No, but they don't have to be. They don't have to be Adele or Celine Dion to be called talented. Taylor swift isn't a great vocalist but you certainly can't call her untalented.
I know that blinks might attack me but as someone who is neutral on them, who don't know entire discography, and who only watches performances of songs that i like, I don't see what jisoo brings on stage. She might have great personality and people like her visual but for me her not being part of the group wouldn't change a thing.
the second biggest inactive girl group in the world.

Yes, Rosé and Jennie are ok singers, Jennie and Lisa are good rappers and Lisa is a great dancer and with their new albums I must say Rosé is a good songwriter and Jennie an amazing one.
Btw people not understanding why they are so famous is bc they have star factor, they are interesting something your flop faves don't have or aren't, they are boring and your inferior complex towards BP won't make your faves to be viewed more positively when they simply SUCK!
I remember, I told them to fuck off and they started saying I threatened them
Where's Jisoo
I'm not delusional like you, I know naming she here will just be a drag when while she drastically improved since debut, she isn't up there with the others in terms of talent.
This is not the gag you desperately wanted it to be.
It is, specially coming from 3rd gen gg stans who always shaded BP about how they would lose relevance over time, but look where we are now.
I don't get how people don't get that star power is really important part of one's success. Are there better singers than bts' vocal line? Yes. Are there better singers than blackpink? Yes. But they obviously have something other groups (with better vocals) don't have, something that appeals to so many people.
Calling them untalented is ridiculous.
I missed that she complimented their looks. Jasmine really don't like bp, surprised that she found something positive :D

That doesn't mean she isn't talented tho?
It's not being delusional, its having faith in your faves. You can't basically treat her like she's nothing special within her group then get mad when others do the same.
You're underestimating her, and as a BLINK that's wrong of you.

Yep, I know both groups are heavily criticized for their "untalent" and fans of "talented" idols do all this circle about how they are so bad and their fans are dumb, but ??? Just bc YOU don't like a type of music or the idol itself doesn't mean YOUR opinion is the right when MILLIONS of others have a different opinion.
I see so many idols go viral on Twitter or TikTok for some pics or gifs, but this never translate to the said idol or their group popularity, why?? Star factor. If people don't click with you then they won't.
As a blink I can say that I'm here bc i simply love their music and how they are on stage. They are super charismatic and yes, they look like real celebrities (something kpop fans hate, when idols know their worth and act like it kkkk) BP always showed more their confident aura and as a woman I love this.
The question was simple, but the answers just show their own inferior complex.
Girl, she isn't a good vocalist like Jennie or Rosé, neither a great dancer like Lisa and she isn't a rapper. I'm not dismissing her role in the group. I never said "oh, BP should do better without Jisoo" on contrary, I also said her role in the group seems the most important, she is a force, an icon, but we are talking strictly about talent.
The way I never realized you meant her because there's another purple menace that I'd seen saying that

Btw I also thought it was about another army...
Of course I think they’re talented/skilled.
If you decide they aren’t, I think you have to paint a very large swathe of groups with the same brush.
For example, they seem directly comparable with their predecessors 2NE1 in terms of talent/skills. I’d be curious to hear the reasons of someone who thinks 2NE1 are talented but Blackpink not.

for many hitting high notes means talent. I sang in choir, i was alto or alto 2 (alto 2 is lower than alto, just in case it wasn't clear). i could easily hit lower notes and there wasn't a lot of us girls who could do it. (in english and my language terms are called differently so I'm not even going to try). I obviously couldn't hit the high notes but i was important part of the team. You don't have to have high range to be considered a good singer.
I know that people drag idols for their talent all the time but if they were untalented they wouldn't be there. They are acting like singing and dancing is easy and that everyone can do it. They can't.
When i got into bts (which was in 2019) i knew nothing about them. i don't know anyone in real life who ever mentioned kpop let alone listened to it. Nobody had an influence on my opinion. I saw them performing mic drop on SNL because the video was trending. I loved the performance and decided to listen to more songs. And I'm here now lol. I've listened to a lot of kpop groups and none of them made an impact on me like them. Everyone can say the same for their faves, armys for bts, blinks for blackpink, bunnies for newjeans... They obviously have that something people like. Some are more talented than others but they certainly aren't untalented.
People who don't like their music call them untalented. They think that their faves who are "more talented" deserve the success the "untalented" idols have.

The main problem is how each person interprets this simple question.
Thinking that being famous means you have talent is a gross oversimplification.
Van Gogh was not popular during his lifetime and lived in poverty. So according to your logic he has no talent. And there are a lot of stories about people like that.
There is also the example of an extremely popular band in the 80s called Milli Vanilli. They were extremely popular, so they had the "star factor" and "talented" again, based on what you said. I invite you to find out for yourself about the history of the band, you will understand that the only talent they had was being outstanding crooks :
QuoteUnlike the international release of 'All or Nothing,' the inserts for the American version of the album explicitly credited the vocals to Morvan and Pilatus. This prompted singer Charles Shaw to reveal in December 1989 that he was one of the three actual vocalists on the album and that Pilatus and Morvan were impostors.
In short, all this to say that associating popularity and talent doesn't make sense.
I sincerely think that we all have different sensitivities when it comes to a person's talent and that this leads us to have different approaches to the subject.
Personally, and this is just my opinion, of course, I compare professionals to each other. If I watch a race at the Olympic Games, I run slower than absolutely all the participants. They are all undoubtedly more talented than me, but I am able to say who won the race or not at the end. And I think it's the same for professional singers, it's their job and I compare them to each other.
I totally understand that there may be other approaches depending on the person and their sensibilities, but equating fame with talent is like equating wealth with success. I think that's really not a good criterion to base this on.

Yes, but in the end talent alone won't make you the most popular group or a top group. I know a lot love to say how BP are the top gg in the world bc of yge, but then you see others yge groups and see how them and BB were truly the exception. The girls have star factor, they are fascinating and I think when groups hit as big as them then it's not a "replace them with any other" anymore. They are this successful bc they are them, specially as they are a small group where all 4 played a huge part in keeping the fandom.

Reheated 2NE1 nachos.

It never is. I still give her an E for effort.

Where did i say that being popular means you are talented? My points is that you have to be talented and have the star power. The term that here is used is untalented which means they can't do anything, not sing nor dance. If idols had no any talent, they would embarrass themselves on stage and become a laughing stock. Which happened during early seasons of Idols. That's exactly what producers did, made fun of people who didn't have the talent to be singers.
As for milli Vanilli, no idea why you are mentioning them, they were frauds who were deceiving everyone that they are singers.
We can discuss if some idols are more talented than others, which they obviously are. But if they had no talent they wouldn't be here where they are.
I like to give nugus some shout out!! Fighting!!
