Too soon to say! Honestly Illit’s support has been increasing recently and a lot more people are coming to their defence! And they still have Hybe supporting them so anything is possible

Cherish was also released in the height of the drama which Illit was involved once all this calms down maybe they’ll their next comeback will be different

Realistically they have a long career ahead of them, backing of HYBE, and a solid fanbase already. Good chance they could have another hit bigger than Magnetic at some point.

But when all is said and done, they will bend the knee to Ahyeon.

With groups like newjeans and aespa, their debut songs really translated well into a big, loyal, vocal and I daresay rabid fandom for the GROUP, not just the SONG.

I didn't really see that same translation for Illit. The song was popular, but it was big and popular despite the group, and I don't really see as a big, loyal, vocal and I daresay rabid fandom for Illit emerge from the popularity of Magnetic. People enjoyed it (I didn't, its soooooo poo), did the tiktok challenges, listened to it and then moved along.

They also didn't seem to really attach to the general kpop public or normie public very strongly either.

So they will now rely on ONLY a hypothetical new song being big again from going viral on its own right, without the backing of a huge fandom to push it as well.

Like it CAN happen, but I'll go with it's unlikely.

I’m the last person that would defend Illit for anything other than logical reasoning if they weren’t a Hybe group then I would agree they would probably be a 1 hit wonder! Until Hybe replaces them they will certainly get another hit maybe not as big as magnetic though

My main concern with them is can they build a stable fan base? Their comeback shouldn't have that big of a decline from their debut. If they have similar results, then the fair question will be is magnetic bigger than group?

Overall, I think it's too early to know because it's only been one year. I am unsure if they have actual fans or company stans backing them, but hopefully they can build a stable fan base. Forgot to mention I could see a scenario where Hybe neglects them to focus on their 2 new girl groups that are debuting this year.
