AKP Bunnies and even casual NewJeans fans, how are you doing in light of the historic announcement NewJeans made today?

  • How are you feeling after NewJeans' press conference? 42

    1. I'm happy for them and ready for their next chapter (17) 40%
    2. I'm cautiously optimistic and hope everything works out (17) 40%
    3. NEWJEANS NEVER DIE (7) 17%
    4. I'm disappointed in them and think they made a mistake (1) 2%

I thought about writing up a whole soliloquy to encapsulate my thoughts and opinions on this internal war over management rights, with more chapters and plot twists than any K-Drama, but I'm going to pivot.

We've reached the official and actual point of no return. NewJeans have made their decision and they're leaving HYBE and FRAUDOR, to continue their careers elsewhere in partnership with Min Heejin.

Some of us hoped it wouldn't escalate to this point as far back as April, while others saw it as an absolute inevitability the moment HYBE went public with their audit and accusations against Min Heejin.

Either way, we're in the end game now.

How do you feel about everything BunniesTaglist

Think of this as a wellness check

  • Cautiously optimistic.

But I'm disappointed in the fact that there was no lawyer at the press conference (might be wrong, since I didn't watch the whole thing).

Having an experienced voice of reason would've been better.

    A lawyer was present

  • Very cautios and physically making an effort to let only good thoughts come through. The girls need good energy right now! After midnight parting ways with ADOR and HYBE won't be in the near future around the corner, it's gonna be real. And it's nothing but expected for them to be scared.

I've been expressing in this forum how proud I am of NJ for putting up this fight to defend their souls. We have babies making old men sweat in their cracks, I'm living for that lol Anywho, we still have a legal battle that will define their financial reality for rest of their lives. And this part of the fight relies on law terms and legal analyses, which means the public appeal won't make much of an impact.

Either way, I'm glad they are free to walk on their own. After all that has happened, keep working for ADOR/HYBE would be hell on earth for them.

Looking forward fot their next steps while choosing to shine the light on the amazing outcomes we had and are gonna keep having from this fight. Idols can only benefit from this!

  • All I'll say is I've had managers who treat you as a human, respect innovation/creativity, and will fight for you. And I've had managers that just make you feel like another number and are more worried about ruffling others feathers than fighting for you or against the status quo. The former is extremely rare and gives you confidence just being under them. The latter will suck your soul out over time. I don't think that's the only thing NewJeans is fighting for, but I do think it could answer the question I see so much of "why are they so attached to this woman". The answer is they respect her.

Aside from that, even as a pretty casual fan, it has always felt to me that NewJeans was a group that operated with more freedom and autonomy than others, very unlike other big4 groups. I think it shows in their content, which I haven't even seen that much of. Now they are going to be subjected to something more corporate and hollow going forward.

Ultimately, I have no idea if this is the truth, but I like to think that is what NewJeans is fighting for by doing all of this. And if that is the case, than I whole heartedly agree with their decisions and really hope it all can work out for them.

  • I'm hoping for this lame Kdrama to finally end.

NewJeans want to leave, ADOR won't let them, they're bound by their contracts, and if they can't show some real evidence against ADOR and HYBE, the court won't do anything and this shit will be stretched for 3-4 years.

I'm 100% sure it's not that simple as they think: Doing a press conference, saying: "Bye bitches, we're leaving." and everything's gonna be okay. Now, THAT would be a historic event, for sure.😅

Also, I don't like what they're doing, at all! I mean, I support them leaving HYBE/ADOR, but they're obviously want to work with MHJ. How is that a good change or a fresh start?

Either way, we're in the end game now.

Yeah, Kevin Feige said the same about the MCU, yet they're still producing shit Marvel movies and shows every year.🤣

  • I believe they have a promising career ahead, especially after seeing their confidence during the press conference. They don't even need to do much marketing now, they just need to release music. They may not be as successful in the west anymore but they still have a chokehold on Korea and that's enough for a successful career.

  • Optimistic. I hope they are able to release new music, new album and a new tour next year. Excited to see where they land, what doors open for them, who they might work with and what new music genres they may try. Good luck and bless!

  • Yeah, my point also. Would be wild and crazy if they would be able to just run off without any huge penalties coming their ways. I can't see that happen, if not something more crazy comes up. The only thing I think can save them is if Hybe just don't want to fight them because it could be even more bad PR for them do fight the girls.

  • I really just hope the girls are happy. I don't particularly like MHJ, but I just can't stand with a corporation, especially one that is hybe. I honestly think if they stay in hybe they could be subjected to further ostracization, genuinely I don't think there's a way to rebuild the trust between the members and ador/hybe.

I understand why they want to keep working with MHJ, and I empathize with them. I mean if they want to keep creating music after they leave their company, it's pretty damn obvious that they'd go back to someone they've worked with in the past. I know my wishes could be unrealistic, but I really pray they can resolve their contractual issues before the second half of 2025, and I hope they are free from hybe. I think at this point, it's best to let them go.

  • I can't predict how this will turn out for them. Regardless of how it will end, I think they are brave and inspiring, because from what we know, they are standing up for what they believe in. And I can only be excited for that.

I hope it works out and that they find footing in a new company and have a successful rebrand.

Maybe it's a pipe dream, but maybe they'll continue to surprise us. I wish them continued success :pepelove1:
