Taeyeon is K-pop's best vocalist

I agree, for me she's one of the best kpop vocalists and my personal favourite!
Letter to Myself is an amazing album, very cohesive and I love that some of the songs have rock influence, as I believe Taeyeon's voice is great for that kind of music. Vocally, as always it's pure perfection. Blur is my favourite song from the album, those vocal runs are heavenly. She could really showcase her wide range and talent here - from the songs where her voice sounded powerful, to soothing, to belting and vocal runs. It's just amazing and another wonderful addition to her amazing solo discography.

Always has been.
Some might sing higher or lower but there’s very few that have the versatility to pull off any type of sound to an amazing degree. Her voice tone is not only beautiful to listen to on its own but what makes her unique is she carries so much emotion; when she sings about sad feelings it truly sound she herself is down and depressed and on the flip side when she’s happy and joyous it sounds like she is smiling while singing. You can see that happening when you see her perform live. Even her earliest stuff like If sound like a seasoned veteran sang than them but actually it’s a fresh rookie from an idol group. There’s simply no one that has everything as total all rounder like Tae.
Letter to myself the album is Tae using her voice as a musical instrument. Most songs are more stripped back from instrumentals so her voice goes hard. Blur and Hot Mess final parts are just taeyeon going wild and it sounds amazing. If other idols did that it might be among their greatest bits of singing in their career, for Taeyeon it’s another Tuesday in her long career

IU is not in the same league with them…

Yeah that one
That 3 step modulation high note is incredibly hard for her to sing
But overall Love wins all is more of challenging song vocally where she also struggles in
But anyways she is a very good vocalist
Just not on the level of best kpop vocalists

Interesting take.
I'll respect your opinion and keep that in mind.

She is one of the best.
But great vocals in Kpop is as relevant as great cooking skills in a McDonalds.
Bad skills will be noticed, but superlative will be ignored and redundant.
Taeyeon was noticed as a formidable vocalist even before Soshi debuted, yet her success as a soloist is because of Soshi.
Because mere great vocals aren't enough in Kpop.
Otherwise EXID Solji, Kim Boa etc. would be the top tier stars.
You need something more,
IU went with Lyricism and good acting career.
But other vocalists largely struggle, if they aren't from top groups or have an additional X factor.
If I want to hear great vocals, I would rather look at classical or opera singers, not Kpop.

LWA is for sure a challenging song, all the covers I've seen, especially from Idols proves it.
To be honest, at SME, I think only Wendy can come close to Taeyeon.
Without doing a deep analysis, this would be my TOP10 female vocalists list, but only for GROUP MEMBERS!
Between 5-10, there's not much difference, btw.
1. Taeyeon
2. Wendy
3. Solar
5. Luna - F(x)
6. Wheein
8. BoA (in her prime) or Kim Sejeong if we only include current BoA
