Spotify is probably around 30% of music streaming in japan, so it's normal to have lower number than others countries where spotify has nearly 100% of the streaming market
But yes the streaming numbers are crazy in some asian countries like thailand
The question is that K-pop groups have incredible streaming numbers compared to domestic artists, and not only in the end, only exceptional artists are in the top streaming numbers with incredible numbers. 
I would consider Blackpink and Babymonster to use streaming bot farms, or just Blinks and Baemons just loop the songs. Like Lisa’s so called “loop” song Money when it didn’t chart on Spotify global when it even had 3m + streams. Also for Babymonster their song forever had like 1.6m + streams 2-3 days ago and it didn’t enter Spotify global.

Everything is complicated with Lisa, because she is a national artist there, it’s difficult to track somehow, but I think YG also has some connections there. Hence the situation is similar with BM, but for example, seeing BTS members there is very strange.

albums are comparatively expensive for people in Thailand, as it takes a lot to buy stuff from a country like Korea (or another country with a strong currency).

I think so, but they also sold out a large stadium in England, and there the amount of streaming is 10 times less than in Thailand. You should understand one thing, Thailand is not a K-pop country like Japan, where there are constantly some kind of concerts from all groups, but nevertheless, there is not just a lot of streaming, but it is incredible. Seeing numbers of 2 million streams, and also the top 10 being filled with the same artists, only speaks of farms, not popularity.
