Is Perfect Night a bigger hit than Queencard, Super Shy and I AM in Korea?

I Am is undeniably the biggest song of 2023 in Korea despite staying the least in top1. It has only 80k of difference in digital points to the song with most digital points, Ditto, which was released 5 months earlier. It was released 9 months ago and still is on Melon at 13 and re-peaked #1 on youtube korea recently.

It's a smaller hit than Ditto. I Am had a slightly stronger first 30 days, as Ditto had to deal with Holiday and Awards season, but from the first month on, Ditto has better numbers and accumulated more points than I Am. The songs are both big enough to consider this splitting hairs, but if any song was bigger, even if by a relatively small margin, it's Ditto.

I also have no idea where you get your numbers from. The difference in points is way more than 80k.

And with the rate at which they're retaining ULs favoring Ditto, I Am will likely never catch it. If it ever does, we'll probably be in 6th generation by then.

I also find it interesting that Lesserafim outdid all of NewJean's 2023 releases in Korea (if this metric is even considered relevant). I thought NewJeans was clearly the biggest girlgroup in 2023 (Korea-wise) with the number of hits they had.

No, it wasn't. It did have a great run at #1 though. It dethroned Baddie and held off aespa and Taeyeon. It is the best performing all English girl group song ever.

Super Shy had to compete with Jungkook, and held off Seven for 50 days. It would've had a much longer reign at #1 if those two releases didn't overlap. It also still has the most total days at #1.

perfect night is a one time success. newjeans has done much better than all these groups in korea.

Perfect Night is just behind Cupid, and NJ music hits last year internationally.

It's their best performing song in Korea, but circle longevity be more telling as Antifragile, Fearless are 640m above and Unforgiven, EPBW 400m-450m. I mean nowadays songs gaining low uls and digital points, I don't think it's easy to compare to past hits. In a sense, PN be the best performing song since 0ct 2023, this is when Melon peaked. Now, the question is if other songs can chart like PN moving forward currently.

I don’t think hours at #1 is a very interesting metric to compare song. Absolute numbers are better.

Cumulative ULs maybe is a better metric but both are not good metrics to see which is over all bigger song.

If it’s within the same year Cirlce digital point is the only right way to check which song is bigger in Korea.

Not if the release window for the songs are far apart. Flatly comparing Circle digital scores only works if the songs are released around the same window.

Unless you do a month to month or even day to day comparison, which I know for a fact nobody here cares enough to do outside of maybe 3 people in the digital thread.
