The fact they tried the triple title track promotion strategy and it flopped compared to what others have accomplished. More importantly, Baddie is nowhere near the hit I Am was. I need to be convinced they can score another hit as big as I Am or Love Dive.
Both of those songs are national hits. Baddie was not.
We'll see on their next comeback. I could be wrong.

You're not wrong and I gracefully accept this fact

I see how you came to that conclusion, but I politely disagree. IVE are still incredibly popular despite Baddie flopping. And Baddie being a flop was more on Starship for choosing a bad title and promoting it very messily rather than IVE's popularity. If they come back with a general public friendly song they could get another Love Dive or I AM sized hit.

I'm not ruling out the potential for IVE to get a bigger hit than Baddie. Hit songs don't happen in a straight upwards trending line and then vanish after the first drop downwards. It can be a rollercoaster.
But I'll wait to be proven wrong on IVE. I personally don't see another Love Dive or I Am sized hit in their future
FWIW, I also don't think there is much left for NJ to accomplish in Korea. They've already done everything a group can do outside of longevity records
But they're just scratching the surface of what they can accomplish globally. I'm curious if they can release a song that would challenge Cupid. Or even the impossibly difficult accomplishment of topping the Billboard Hot 100

New Jeans, every song has less and less longevity in Melon Top 10.
33-50 weeks for Hybe Boy and Attention
18-27 weeks for OMG and Ditto
17 weeks or less for ETA and Supershy
Possibly Ive too tbh, the next comeback will be key.
Aespa peaked with Next Level tbh.
Idle is just solid af and LSRFM had advantage of starting lower so they are still rising.

With more than one team gaining popularity in the domestic music industry, one might ask why their surge in popularity is so noteworthy. However, considering that Day6 is a group that has entered its 10th year of debut this year, that it is a band that focuses on a rock band sound, and that the members' military service ended at the end of last year and they have just resumed activities as a full group, they 's popularity is definitely unusual.
Day6 is a group that debuted as JYP Entertainment's first band in 2015. Since their debut album, all members have participated in composing and writing lyrics, showing their side as a 'talented band'. In 2017, they released 'Everyday Day6' As the project progressed, the members began to attract the attention of listeners by releasing new songs they worked on every month and holding concerts.
It is not that there was no crisis. Day6, which originally debuted as a six-member group, was reorganized into a four-member group after many twists and turns as two members were embroiled in gossip. 'Everyday Day6' The coronavirus pandemic, which broke out just as the project was gaining popularity among music fans, was also a crisis.
For bands that met fans mainly on stage at various music festivals, festivals, and concerts, the pandemic period was truly a 'dark age'. Afterwards, starting with leader Seongjin's enlistment in 2021, the members' military leave period (gap due to military service) began in earnest, and their music careers also 'paused' It seemed like it would work. But for Day6, the crisis became another opportunity. Although the performance was put on hold due to the pandemic, the songs they had accumulated until now went viral and caught the trend of 'reverse driving'.
The song that made Day6's presence known by recording a comeback at the time was 'You Were Pretty'. 'You Were Pretty', released in 2017, climbed the charts in 2020, three years after its release, providing an opportunity for Day6 to be rediscovered. In addition, all members renewed their contracts between military service periods, laying the foundation for a splendid 'Second Act 'Another three years later, in 2023, 'You were pretty. ' succeeded in a comeback for the second time in about 6 years since its release. This time, a new record was written together with 'so that it can become one page'. In 2022, when the members were serving in the military, KBS2 'Immortal Song' 'To Become a Page', which attracted a lot of attention after performing on the special stage on Armed Forces Day, set a record of breaking its own highest ranking on the music chart four years after its release.
Coincidentally, it was a 'good news' that coincided with the end of the members' military service. Thanks to the turnaround achieved ahead of the 9th anniversary of their debut and their increased popularity, Day6 won the 4th album in December last year. They successfully completed their first face-to-face concert in years, 'The Present: You Are My Day', and announced their spectacular return as a complete group. This concert was sold out, including the additional open seats, giving a glimpse of Day6's position as it has become even hotter than before. And in 2024, music fans are still enthusiastic about their music, complaining of 'Day6's illness' here and there. It is truly a 'storm'.
The reason Day6 was able to reach such a hot 'heyday' in the 10th year since their debut was ultimately ' It is the power of music. It literally proves the saying, 'Good music will see the light someday.' In fact, the foundation that enabled them to record a comeback and receive re-evaluation from the public were the songs created through the members' fingertips. The musicality of each member, who has grown solidly through various works, and the overwhelming youthful sensibility unique to Day6's songs created a perfect synergy and succeeded in making Day6's presence known. Of course, last year. After being discharged from the military, MBC 'What do you do when you hang out?', Mnet 'VS' Young K's performance, which raised awareness of himself and the team through various entertainment shows, also had a significant impact on 'Day6's sensation.' However, the reason Young K was able to receive favorable reviews on entertainment shows was also because of his solid musical skills, so it is no exaggeration to say that their current popularity ultimately came from their 'music. 'Now many people 'believe and listen' There are endless ways for Day6, which has established itself as a band, to move forward. Now is the time for the K-pop market to pay attention to what kind of musical feast these people who have quietly created their own colors will unfold.

Do EXO count as active or they are dead?
EXO will just keep peaking every Dec when they defrost like Mariah Carey sunbaenim

Dead. Buried. Six feet under.

Attention didn't outperform OMG and especially Ditto. Hype Boy is the biggest song of the 4th generation.
Super Shy and ETA run laps around the other songs with their Billboard performance, which is the arena where NewJeans still have a lot of room for growth.
We know who the bar is for western popularity. You know that I believe they will get there and jump over it!

17 have never released anything catchy in their lives and still had super become a hit so these things aren’t correlated for me
