is STAYC bigger than ITZY in South Korea?

Hmmm. I vote for Stayc, their last MV got 35 million views, while ITZY's cake got 63 million views......not very far apart by kpop standards. So technically if we really think about it. Stayc girls have broken out of nugudom, whilst itzy are being locked in the nugudom dungeon as we speak.

In terms of song charting Stay-C takes it, but I feel in terms of group recognition and individual member popularity and recognition, ITZY still holds rank.

I mean who tf would have bigger casual interest? the group that consistenly chart in melon top 20-50 or the one that struggle to reach top100? Who would have bigger interest as individuals, the ones that had #1 song at debut and have trended consistently for different type of news (thin waist, bully scandal, charismatic performance, mom calling out haters) or the other group that trend more as individuals only for their visuals or when one of the girls' father does a tiktok challenge with them? just in my general experience living in SK nowadays STAYC is more known and popular, obviously peak Itzy was bigger tho. They seemed like the future of kpop back in 2019.

Chaeryoung did go viral last year so she's probably the most famous of both groups atm (to the average person), but in general I think they're equally talked about if not STAYC a little bit more. Sieun and Isa are relatively famous these days. I can text some friends tomorrow too and ask who's more famous/popular in their eyes and if it's the same as with me, I'm getting curious now lol.

yeah i like staycs music better but dont know all of their members whereas i know everyone in itzy
