Will it be good or bad if NewJeans becomes the Act with the most #1s in Circle Chart Weekly?

NewJeans debuted on Jul 22, 2022, so it has been 57 weeks since it debuted.

It has had 19 weeks at #1 in the Weekly Circle Chart, formerly known as Gaon Chart.

Right now, the ranking of most #1s in Circle Chart Weekly stands as of now

5. Ive - 17 Weeks

4. NJ - 19 Weeks

3. Big Bang - 22 Weeks. Effectively disbanded.

2. BTS - 24 Weeks

1. The Singer who spent her entire career undermining KPop (TSWSHECUK) - 56 Weeks.

TSWSHECUK debuted in 2008 but effectively her career of undermining KPop began in 2010. So she spent a bit short of 700 weeks since debut in contention. Assuming 700 for ease of calculation, in each week she had a 8% chance of winning at #1 in Circle Chart.

NewJeans had a 34% chance of winning #1 in Circle Chart in any given time.

If current trends continue, it will take New Jeans a couple years to overtake TSWSHECUK's record of #1s in Weekly Circle Chart.

The only thing would be whether that will be a good thing.

It is likely that NJ will extend its foreign activities in the coming months. If it wins that many #1s in Korea, which means it wpuld not have released any foreign albums and done little foreign activities.

I think Bunnies would rather prefer to see NJ expanding out of Korea and conquer foreign demons than trying to break TSWSHCUK's record.

I'm not sure if I misunderstood the question but that's my answer.

If they break the record of TSWSHECUK, aka IU, for the most weeks in Circle Chart that means they have not released any albums gearing toward foreign fans for the next 2 years. So I have mixed feelings on that.

The only thing I'd be mixed about is it would mean NewJeans would've debunked what I've long prophecized, which is my King Taeyeon, lord of the lands between Seoul and Busan, protector of the 4 generations, mother of the SNSD, would've been the one to finally lay rest the dreaded reign of IU.

TSWSHECUK settled that question with her Olympic Stadium concert but she was afraid of NJ to invite them to her lair so in a sense NJ is ahead of TY on that aspect
