Maybe lower level groups that have no chance on getting paid to wear a brand can do it, but not top tier groups.

you can do both because fashion is all about recontextualising ideas, stylists just gotta do their research and TAKE RISKS. Shushu Tong, Chopova Lowena, Simone Rocha - those designers do high fashion looks that scream /costume/ if done right

I kinda agree. Those SNSD white costumes were great. Also, i miss those times when Kpop acts didnt need these hideous knee length safety shorts. They ruin every damn performance.

Either come up with simpler choreo that dont result in the idols exposing themselves, or wear longer skirts so that the safety shorts stay hidden until you actually need them, or just wear fancy styled shorts as your main outfit.

The terribad "safety shorts underneath skirts and other shorts aesthetic" needs to go.

I think it would be cool for like a comeback. If it plays into the comeback and has an interesting theme, but not every comeback. I prefer pretty clothes over tacky and corny.

And high heels means that dance performances would need to be dialed back.

I had a panic attack when NMIXX was dancing in those chunky heels during Dice era. I legit though they were going to fall on their ankle wrong and had anxiety. Was not enjoyable for me as a fan.

Makes no sense thinking they should copy Japanese groups to look "quircky" and "odd" since many JPop groups look like this nowadays:
