Best song from NewJeans Get Up?

New Jeans- Whenever I hear this song the speed of my walk kind of just immediately picks up, which I think is the intention. Its an instant icon, I mean c’mon. The lyrics are so simple, and the transition between each of the beat-changes is immaculate. The way this song ends is perfect, and I personally think it blends so well into the beginning build up of Super Shy. 9/10

Super Shy- This song is very clearly the lead single of the album. I know that people were getting a little annoyed that ADOR chose this as the first, but the beat to this song is so infectious its crazy. I literally everytime want to go for a run, and the choreography of this song has my favorite kpop dance sequence ever in the final outro. 9/10

ETA- The lyrics in this are immediately my favorite of all the NewJeans song. The pace that they break up the verses makes them really easy to keep track of, but truthfully in my opinion it does get a little bit repetitive with the horn staying throughout the entire song, but weirdly I crave its outro section where its isolated so maybe its just something new to me? I liked it a lot when it was a live so maybe that has something to do with it? I think the only thing i would personally change about this song is maybe i would have had their choices a little louder and bass-boomed slightly. 7/10

Cool With You- The rainstick in the beginning with the signature slow piano and electronic percussion entry is so good. But not as good as Ms Hyein’s vocals! She enters this song with such emotional conviction I’m like are you 45??? Have you lived a past life to be able to connect to music so well??? “You see me like no other, and I think I like your point of view.” Icon. I. Con. I love these lyrics because they’re so applicable to SO many relationships. The lyrics to this song, completely throughout, give me the feeling if effortless cool. It feels like I’m dancing with my friends and the drinks are setting in through the verses and every time i hear the “it feels” my heart literally picks up with excitement for the “COOOOOOOOL WITH YOU” to come through. Something about the sharp switch makes me feel a wave of euphoria, and I feel so confident and comfortable in this feeling. This song is easily flawless to me. I also am effing obsessed with the talk rap. I need every other kpop group to take a note if they are BlackPink right now.

10/10 favorite song in their entire discography immediately everytime i hear it.

Get up- its an interlude which i think is annoying because it could have been my favorite. If you like this song, though, listen to Alina Baraz and you’ll be happy.

ASAP- Strangely this song feels more like an outro to me more than a song? I mean it literally is but its also longer than “New Jeans” which is a B-Side, but honestly it is the perfect way to end the EP. It feels kind if clunky on purpose to juxtapose the angelic vocalizing. It doesn’t grow as a song, as much as it slows down instead which i appreciate because this EP is super high energy so I can feel the intentionality of this song being placed as the outro song.

ASAP baby, Hurry up don’t be lazy.
