Taylor Swift - Is she the only true Western answer to Kpop?

Meh. Madonna is miles better, also Beyonce, Ariana, etc, etc. Oh, is about money, ofc, silly me

Alot of the way she treats her fans & just the way her career in general is really similar to how the idol industry moves. I've seen people with no interest in Western music and mostly into KPOP be into her, as well as Taylor stans who aren't really into non Taylor Western acts into KPOP.
I don't really know how to explain it, but through stuff like secret sessions, interacting with fans on social media, meet & greets, etc, overtime that made fans feel 'closer' to her in a way and therefore more loyal. She was kinda one of the first few artists to do all that and now you're seeing alot of singer-songwriter artists name her as an influence and do similar stuff.
It's not that different from the idol industry where you're supposed to feel 'close' to the idol in a way through stuff like fansigns & vlives and variety shows.
So in conclusion, prioritizing your fans & being overly loving/supportive of them above all else will most likely guarantee extremely good results. The clip in the OP very much gives Beatlemania/MJ vibes and I think she's the closest living active artist to come close to that at least this century

Taylor isn't the answer to kpop. Taylor is the music industry.

taylor swift very famous, she got fans, she got armys of people out here loving her. i like some of her songs, they be okay, but she fine, she ain't that good to me. the true queen of pop is beyonce, gots to stop loving taylor swift, she be doing weird stuff, i ain't be understanding the swifties, i don't. but we gots to respect her dedication and work ethic, we gots to. gots to be supporting woman. she is bigger than k-pop, good for her. but she ain't the queen of kpop, she ain't.

She heavily invests in fandom activity for decades now, hence, her core fandom became exceptionally loyal, growing with time. She realized was soon as she hit mainstream fan connection was what drove her success, because she could issue top 5/10 on her home market based on fandom alone and could sell over 800k in the first week with pretty much every studio album she released
The reason why her album sales remain so strong is because people buy them as collectors. All her albums now come with tons of versions and limited editions, every time she releases a new version she comeback to charts selling over 50-60k out of nothing, for albums that mind you are years old with a dozen of versions already
I have no idea why other western acts do not try to cultivate a fandom like hers, but she's a clear very competent businesswoman, even more so than a good singer/songwritter

I have no clue who Matty Heebie is lol. I did see a funny pic some Swiftie put up on TW with 9 of her BFs arranged in a tic tac toe grid. Apparently this new rando dude is more musty/sketchy looking compared to the clean cut lookin dudes she dated before. But tbh i stopped following her BFs after that werewolf dude and the boomer Gylenhall dude it got too hard to keep track of em
typical rocker type, altho they make pop rock, i think hes clean now

The song is decent but yet again, why is it so repetitive and why is it lacking a real bridge and outro?? I just can't with modern pop, including what passes for rock these days
.
I mean, what happened to epic magnum opuses like this from Bonnie Tyler, which i spammed multiple times probably but i dont care
? Since when did creativity, variety, complexity, passion and letting a song take its time and breathe become so "uncool"? Was it grunge that finally killed off real music? The rise of hip hop? The rise of autotune and Garageband? The rise of streaming?

The locked-in groove is their sound.
But their deep cuts are more shoegazey/The Cure

i mean, those artists are out there somewhere, they just dont get talked about on kpop forums or get to court Taylor Swift

To me, she is the greatest pop musician in the post 80s, post-rock era (1993-present). I'm talking in the past 30 years or so. Her song quality and lyricism can consistently compete with the legends that i grew up with (Springsteen, Bon Jovi, GnR, U2, MJ, Queen, Meatloaf, etc) and she is the only artist that can claim that. She did peak awhile ago with the Fearless, Red, and Speak Now holy trinity of albums, her recent songs from Folklore and Midnights cant really compare... But there is no question that Swift is still as popular or even MORE popular than she was when she first started out. The GP has spoken and her new album apparently broke all kinds of crazy records when it came out.
Her longevity is almost unparalleled and she obviously has digital records on lock.
But what makes her the fiercest Western competitor to Kpop is her album sales, that's what truly opened my eyes recently. I just found out she sold 1.8 MILLION traditional album sales for her latest album in the US alone. That's unfathomable to me, since nobody here buys albums anymore. That's probably the equivalent to 20 million Kpop albums from mass fandom purchases tbh.
And secondly, her touring. I've read bits and pieces about her latest tour breaking records and then saw this...
What other local artist can do this? I feel like only the biggest Kpop bands can do this nowadays (BTS, BP, Twice).

I think every Kpop and Western label would drop any of their artists in a microsecond in exchange for signing Taylor.
Facts 💯
Taylor swift is incredible & anti hero is lyrically the best song released last year
Her work ethic is insane too,it's also how she got this BIG she's kinda like BTS
