    Comments on Leejung’s Instagram

A post appeared last night when Leejung went to Coachella Comments-on-Leejungs-Instagram-1-820x1024.jpgComments-on-Leejungs-Instagram-2-1024x277.webpComments-on-Leejungs-Instagram-3-619x1024.webp

She finally edited the text Comments-on-Leejungs-Instagram-4-1024x167.webp

I searched why they wrote such malicious comments and she received the choreographer award from MAMA for Lisa’s solo song Money, but she didn’t thank Lisa on Instagram..

    1. Lisa’s foreign fandom is legendary, her Southeast Asian fans are really bad

    2. Leejung choreographed the choreography and won the choreographer award, does she have to say thank you to the singer? It’s weird that they think like that…

    3. It’s like Koreans terrorizing the Mermaid actress Instagram

    4. Lisa is a talented and cool idol but why are her foreign fans so bad? I just feel sorry for the normal fans and Lisa;

    5. I like Lisa the most in BLACKPINK, but I’m tired of her foreign fans

    6. Why should the choreographer say thank you to Lisa? Why didn’t they ask Lisa to thank Yang Hyun Suk?

    7. Lisa’s Money choreography became a hot topic because Leejung is so good, why don’t they thank Leejung?

    8. Are they thugs?

    9. BLACKPINK and Leejung are best friends and respect each other, but their fans are bad

    10. Why is Lisa’s fandom always like that?

    11. Leejung was given an award for her ability, so why are you criticizing her? ㅠㅠ

  • I never wanna defend any of the akgaes and ngl Lisa stans irritate me the most but the way it's only her fans that get called out by kfans is telling. Lisa has always been ignored by KBlinks and the only time they ever talk about her is to shit on her "sea-roach" fans

  • That's the toxic side of K-pop fans at it again. Unless you praise and credit their favorites to the max, they'll find fault with you somehow. It would be nice if all fans could appreciate the hard work, teamwork, and camaraderie that happen behind the scenes to make these great performances happen. These are creatives who respect and support each other; they already show that to each other on a regular basis.

I'll say this, though. I'd rather people refer to these fans as "toxic K-pop fans" instead of "Lisa fans," "Southeast Asian fans," or "Blinks." I'm not so found of that one netizen's comment about "her Southeast Asian fans." As usual, the obnoxious ones capture the most attention, but they don't represent the entire demographic.

Or maybe just call them 'fans'.

Kpop fans get a bad rep, because yes, there are quite some toxic fans, but they're still not as toxic as football fans (hooligans) or gamers.

And from what I've seen on Twitter, fans of people like Taylor Swift are at least as bad.

Not surprised at the way they talk about her fans, unfortunately. I do think Lisa isn't always liked by some Korean fans. She is arguably the most popular female Kpop idol and her being from a different country seems to sting with some people.

  • That's why I made sure to include "toxic" to specify the type of K-pop fans — "toxic K-pop fans." I don't like when people speak as if all or most K-pop fans are like this either.

I'd like to think the majority of K-pop fans are decent people who just want to support their favorites while respecting everyone else. They're not out to harm anyone.

No doubt about some Korean fans' dislike for Lisa. That's sadly just expected.

    I agree with you.

Most are. Dumb fanwars have put people on edge, but everyone making a bad comment about an idol who has done nothing wrong, made their own choice to be toxic.

  • lol pls stop deluding yourself

as someone who dabbles into all three, kpop fans are absolutely as bad as football fans and both of them are significantly more insufferable than "gamers"

a lot of casuals play games for fun

Yeah, because Kpop fans go to a stadium and throw bottles at each other, fight in the streets and vandalise host countries.

You stop deluding yourself. You have a very rose-tinted glasses view of gamers.

Another day, another death threat from 'gamers' to people who make Video Games - PlayStation 3

    Bye Felicia.

  • you're only showing examples of 1% of "gamers"

a ton of people play video games of all kinds

    kids coming back from school

sweaty teens trying to go pro

adults taking a break from work

    etc etc

if you were to ask an average young adult with a perfectly reasonable life, they'd probably say they dabble in some video games

its not an "intense" hobby for most people unlike kpop or football

now if you were to specify a specific TYPE of game like league of legends or counter strike, I'd say you are spot on

but you're using the term "gamer" which can be compared to "music listener" or "sport enjoyer"

  • Yeah, and if we're going to be like that: the ones who do crazy stuff are only 1% or less of Kpop fans.

If you want to count everyone who has ever said anything toxic online about Kpop, you will also have to count every gamer who has ever been toxic online to others (and that includes during the game) to others. Will be a way higher number than 1% then too, because I have seen a friend play games online and you can see people swearing at others and getting enraged non-stop. I game too, but don't play with others, partly for this reason. When I still did, it was crazy and I mean CRAZY. And when they find out you're a woman...you're in for real 'fun'. And I didn't play Counterstrike, but online RPGs.

Lots of people dabble in Kpop music without getting into arguments.

There are lots of casuals in Korea and abroad who don't even know what the fanwars are about, let alone participate in them.

I noted that you didn't say anything about football anymore. Maybe because you also realized Kpop fans don't go to a stadiums to throw bottles at each other, fight in the streets and vandalise host countries.

  • football fans can be the scum of the earth if they care too much about the pro scene

i love playing football but never interact with football fans outside the field because of that

but my relationship with kpop fans hasnt been much better

they're not scummy but a very very high percentage of them are toxic and hateful in a different way and equally hard to be around

and i listen to kpop everyday so its not like i hate kpop

comparatively, chill and fun gamers are much easier to find

they probably arent going around labelling themselves as gamers though
