Do kpop idols live below their means?

It's the only thing that makes sense because there's no reason for these insanely rich idols to act like this over a $15 McDonald's gift card on a variety show

when they get gifted beef box set or fruit baskets!!

Groups that can renew contract are definitely rich, there's no reason to spend 7 years in a saturated market and renew your contract after that if you aren't doing well.

For rookies, I think it depends on their success and popularity and the company they come from.

RM’s home might have looked modest by western standards but his artwork isn’t. That round white thing on his living room floor is well over 1 million dollars, and that’s just one piece of artwork. BTS live within their means and even modestly but I don’t think it’s necessarily true for all idols. Most of them don’t pay in cash for their homes so they have loans and debt just like most.

But it's the oposite for my faves. I mean A.C.E's company has almost no money, yet after the boys debuted they stated they got a freaking lot pocket money from their CEO each month even when they knew how broke she is and she felt sometimes sorry for not being able to buy food for the boys (since she spend all her money on giving the boys pocket money) and they were getting more than she could even give to them sometimes. A bit later they moved to a new apartment and she made sure to give each member their own bedroom which means they have a quit expensive apartment if it means to have 5 bedrooms in Korea.

They don't really look like as if they would receve more than many other groups but knowing how broke their company once used to be you realise that even having a quit normal lifestyle can sometimes be way more than some people can pay for and so knowing your fave group lives normaly (even if they are broke) is good to know that they are save but also sad if you realise that they live on the edge of maybe ending up bankrupt someday

Yeah their CEO looks like it ... however douchebags like YG made fun of her for that (later on she fucked his floped survival show up cause he was about to freak hers and some other people's small companies up and she gave him back what he deserved: no boygroup and girlgroup since she told everyone the contracts he handed out would be uper shit and make small buisnesses go bankrupt).

IDK much about her but the members respect her like an older sister and even used to spend time with her daughter when she took her to work (however once a photo of this girl made people think that A.C.E's Donghun had a child ... thats... um... no he has no child and especially not with the CEO!)

She used to not own her building at that time and so rented a basement from someone. The person owned a restaurant and gave free food to the members each day, which she was greatfull and happy for since of how she was unable to pay for normaly if he wouldn't had given it out for free. On the survival show that Rain did at the same time however they portrayed A.C.E as "Omg this is so horrible, how can you be debuted and live off of convinience store food and meals gifted to you?". When YG asked the restaurant owner why he was giving out free food instead of asking them to pay and said "also think of yourself you make a big loss in not earning money from selling food" the dude said he was ok with giving out free food since he would be payed allready for it. YG didn't got it and said "huh, how? You said you give it out for free?!" the restaurant owner only said that he thinks hearing the boys sing from the basement all day long would be enough to pay for food with and YG didn't understood.

YG also made fun of her for not being able to buy her own building and other things and she was almost not able to conter his dumb comments. Later on A.C.E's Donghun went kinda viral on the internet cause he menaged to diss YG when YG said "Why the fuck are grown up men performing in hotpants? Grown men shouldn't wear them" and Donghun just went like: "Than what's that with WINNER in the LOVE ME LOVE ME-MV ?" (Since Winner wore hotpants in the MV). YG was so stupid the whole time. Even dissed A.C.E's Wow cause he couldn't recognize him. Wow: "Actually I am a former YG trainee" YG: "Than you must've been someone not revelant enough cause I actually do remember former trainees" bruh

I was so happy when MIXNINE failed tho

from the sound of it rookies are mostly in debt but get taken care of by their companies (if they're successful)

groups like blackpink, red velvet, twice, bts etc. are blatant millionaires

I don't remember much no more but I do remember

• He dissed the people who were members of 24K at that time "Oh no, not another basement as company building, why do you not have at least a room on 1st-floor level? Why are you so broke?"
• He dissed some girls who were trainees under Banana Culture for "you are a noname and nobody cares that your senior group is EXID"
• He dissed the woman who runs the comopany of the group called M.O.N.T cause she lives with the boys in a house on a mountain far away from Seoul in the middle of nowhere and cause she also 1) called herself "I am like a mom to the boys" 2) cause she said she dosn't thinks producing a CD and going on music shows would be nessesary and when YG said "But you are a former singer had been to music shows between (some years)" she said she dosn't likes music shows cause her experience wasn't good and so she thought the boys shouldn't experience that too. 3) since some boys were super unsure of their own future and still very young YG thought it was quit sus to be a middle aged woman with a lot young men in a house in the middle of nowhere and he was also shook when she said she was living with them like she has her bedroom in the same house as the boys have their bedrooms and they share the same bathroom and kitchen and such...
