Brave Girls are killing it right now, someone said they have over 500K UL on Melon. Their other songs are charting too, it's like that SMTM song that blew up and knocked Dynamite out of first place, Korean music listeners are crazy when it comes to riding waves and hopping on the newest trends, whether it be Lee Hyori's avalanche of songs last year, SMTM, or now Brave Girls.
IU is still holding firm with a lot of ULs on Melon as well.
But one other potentially massive obstacle is the hype from BTS winning a Grammy. Personally, i think they're 95% locked to win at least one. This will make headlines everywhere, both in the US and in Korea. Dynamite could surge again in the charts next week, Rose's debut could get completely drowned out by BTS headlines.
How the hell can Rose compete with all these factors stacked against her?? Part of me seriously wonders if YG still has enough clout at YGE to set her up for failure. Downgrading from a mini to a solo album, delaying it until it has to compete with IU, then releasing the album in the same weekend as the BTS/Grammys hype train explodes. Now we find out it's in English but there's no mention of radioplay for the US market.
I am damn worried. Someone tell me all my fears are unfounded and that Rose is just gonna fuggin ROLL.
