I think it's funny not a single chart account on twitter posted about this even though it's perfectly official numbers from Circle

They created this offline chart precisely because ifans were being blamed for some high sales so it's like a million Chinese fans came to Korea to buy an album in stores, if you listen to some of the excuses

This just highlights how bad a statistic the album retail chart is when trying to see sales made to domestic buyers, which is something I see kpop fans doing

I guess that's how media play works. Some people will believe it while some people know better.

lmao it does, wonder how knetz missed that. the post I saw about it two days ago didn't include that, seemed weird to me that there was an article focusing on just the domestic numbers. I guess they added the melon followers part just to make the mediaplay less obvious

Media play or not it's amusing how easily it's being dismissed when even if it's "just" Chinese bulk buying skewing the chart it still means that Stray Kids's Chinese fans managed to buy 400K more than BTS in under 3 months (Maxident was released in october).
