"ditto and omg sound like b-sides"

attention, hype boy, cookie are all title tracks in their debut album. Only hurt is a bside. They stated this clearly on the day they dropped attention lol
-
attention, hype boy and cookie were ALL "tittle tracks" as confirmed by ador... they were all promoted about the same with cookie getting less likely because it lagged behind success wise and was most contentious of the songs.
and ditto is also a promoted single that will likely be performed dually with omg when they go on music shows

Does the difference between TT and pre-release really matter? They all got MVs, got/will get promotion, and all crushed the charts.
Honestly it feels like the pre-release may even get the advantage. It gets the most hype because fans have been waiting longer. Like with BP; Pink Venom did better than Shutdown and HYLT did better than LSG.

hype boy was a title track, along with attention and cookie tho
anyhow, since ditto so far has been promoted the same way as ditto has, it's not like it's affecting its ranking
hopefully we will see them perform both songs as they did with attention, hype boy, cookie and hurt

I think Attention, Hype Boy and Cookie all feel like title tracks. I like them all and I have a hard time choosing one over the others, whereas Hurt clearly functions as a b-side for me ie. a track I won't listen to by itself, but only when I listen to the EP as a whole.
I don't get that TT feel with Ditto and OMG though. I have not listened to them multiple times though, so maybe it could change with a few addtional listens. But rn I don't really feel like it. I feel like they're the kind of songs that you have figured out entirely after 30s, which sounds a bit uneventful. Like, they're nice but I'd rather listen to them with juicier tracks around them. Problem is, there's nothing else but these two songs in this release so I feel it's lacking.

I love the fact they turn almost all their songs into title tracks (and even the only b-side is well promoted). I don't care If they "sound as b-sides" or not, as long as they are good.
It seems to me It's more common for boygroups to promote a lot of songs at once with choreography, stages, MVs, special videos. When girlgroups only promote one song in months and call it an era.
For me It's one of the main reason why I got into NewJeans and I hope they continue to promote even the good songs that "should've been b-sides"

I didn't know they were all tts, I always heard hype boy was a bside. Anyway, glad that hype boy got to be a tt, though attention is still underserving of the title.
Anyway, I hope ditto is promoted as much as omg.

Does it matter though? TT, b-side? As long as both songs are enjoyed and are hits?
We're not the producers, just consumers.
Imo.
