I feel like wakeone was successful with songs like either Up! or MVSK. Wish they sticked to something like either of those...

It's amazing how the same company can create two groups yet produce such vastly different products. Also, I think La Vie En Rose is such an amazing song a blind, def, one legged pirate could perform it and it's still be amazing. Wake One is wasting so much talent. I feel sorry for those girls because they aren't being set up for the amazing careers that IZ*ONE got through no fault of their own.

IZ*ONE's musical and creative direction was handled by Pledis, which is also amazing for the fact that Pledis is notorious for destroying their own girl group for no reason.

Actually, Kepler's title tracks are way better than Izone's. WADADA is a SOTY contender, a 10 out of 10, and We Fresh is great as well, at least a 9. None of Izone's title songs rank higher than a 6, maybe Panorama can edge into bop category on a good day.

But it's not about the songs. It's about the group. Lee Soo Man was already too late when he tried to create his own Avengers of Kpop, since that title was already claimed by Izone.

Izone was simply the greatest collection of Kpop talent ever assembled in one group. I saw this on TW and it's very apropos - Izone's light shined so bright that no other 4th gen group could stand out. It was only when Izone's light was finally extinguished that the rest of 4th gen could be seen.

Aside from the fact that Mnet can no longer manipulate the votes, the quality of the trainees of gp999 itself are far lower than produce48, so it's not that weird for Kep1er to be such an uninteresting line up.

Nah, changing their concept and sound is one of the biggest mistake that Wakeone done to Kep1er.

Up is such a cute concept and song but can't even pull half of Wadada's achievements. They changing their concept from teen crush to this cute pop song is one of the reason why people left the fandom. Imagine liking Kep1er because their girl crush image then suddenly you got Up which is totally different so those fans will lost their interest on this group. And those who like them for Up and their cute concept left after this We Fresh cb that I don't even know fall under which concept. Their fanbase will not grow this way because people will keep leaving when the concept and music is not fits to their liking.

In conclusion, don't change the concept but hired better producer and songwriter instead. What a shame that Yujin end up with a group that facing the same problem with her previous group.

Their entire concept just feels kind of bland to me? Like nothing stands out. They have talent, don't get me wrong, but I can see why they haven't exploded in popularity.

I really like Kep1er but they feel like they are trying to be Everglow but falling really short if that makes any sense at all. I think the best song they have done was UP. That seemed to fit them really well and they looked like they were really having fun.

Gp999's Japanese trainees skills alone much more better than the J-trainees in pd48 because most of them actually received a proper training from their company. The J-trainees in pd48 in the other hand coming from idol groups in Japan that didn't care about their idols' skills other than variety skills. The Chinese trainees in Gp999 is really skillful and having that star aura around them like Xiaoting. The Korean trainees is not even bad, most of them is really good too. I don't see how you can say that the quality of trainees is lower. It's the voting system and screentime didn't favor the C-trainees and J-trainees, most of them get eliminated too fast.

I'm at a loss of exactly what Kepler should do to gain more traction.

It's not Olympic, it's a popularity contest

Even with a concept change or whatever, Kep1er is still facing 4 major hurdles:

1) They're a temporary group

2) The fandom Civil War is a mess

3) There's a bunch of other shiny and new, permanent, big name GGs that are basically stealing all of the attention. The saturation is real.

4) I-Land2 + Boys Planet will inevitably steal the attention of all of the bored idol reality show addicts and will probably take a noticeable chunk of Kep1er's fan base as well
