I cant imagine having enough dishes to run it daily and I wouldnt want my stuff to marinate with stuff on them
people who live alone, do you use dishwasher?

No, as my place doesn't have one though it should for the rent I'm paying. I don't mind as I have had a place with a dishwasher and they're not all they're cracked up to be. They take too long and seeing as I've been washing up by hand since I was 10, (that's 44 years) I'd rather wash dishes in the sink. I'm not lazy.

Yes, every time I cook something that bring a lot dishes. But if I only got like one plate I am gonna wash it by dish brush.

The kitchen was pre-installed, wich is uncommon in Germany since most of the time you have to buy your own kitchen
The spacing of the entire apartment is also meh so where I could have a dishwasher I need my washing mashine so yeah ... and I had no money to buy a kitchen or remodel it anyways, so I have to live with the ugliest shit of a kitchen since the people who left their old kitchen behind left me a ruined dirty one...
I am used to not have a dishwasher even tho the kitchen in my family's house was huge so I don't mind having no dishwasher even tho I would love to have one lol. I just don't really like washing dishes...

As someone who lives alone, I gotta say having a dishwasher can be a game-changer! It saves me so much time and keeps my place clean and tidy. Plus, when I have guests coming over, I can quickly toss everything in the dishwasher, and voilà! But hey, I totally get your concern about stuff marinating on the dishes. Just make sure to give them a quick rinse before loading, and you're good to go! Speaking of dishwashers, I recently had a little issue with leakage, and it was a bummer. Had to call in a repair service, but they fixed it up nicely! So, overall, I'm still Team Dishwasher!

This tells me how spoiled Americans are like myself. I’ve never known anyone that did not have a dishwasher in their home whether they live in a house, apartment, etc.
We always clean our dishes thoroughly and then put them in the dishwasher for cleaning.

yes, i have a small dishwasher

I live in a third world country and im barely middle class. I never used a dishwasher in my life.

Living alone means you're in charge of everything, including the dishes. I used to think the same way about not having enough dishes to run the dishwasher daily. It's not just about the quantity. It's the convenience that counts. After a long day, the last thing I want to do is stand at the sink scrubbing dishes. The dishwasher saves time and gives me a break from the chore. And as for marinating dishes, I totally hear you. No one wants that! That's why the pre-rinse option is handy before loading them in the dishwasher. Plus, modern dishwashers have various settings to suit your needs. Also, I found this link (https://fixappliances.ca/refrigerator-repair/) that might be useful if your dishwasher ever needs a little fixing.

I live alone and use the dishwasher, but 1) I love to cook, so usually have a pile of dishes after cooking dinner and 2) I try to build up a pile of dishes before running a full cycle. Maybe a full days worth, sometimes two days worth. I'll pop em in the dishwasher until ready to run the cycle.
If a dish is really grotty, I'll rinse it out first.

Not really
since i live alone i consider that a dishwasher is not really needed and i can do my dishes by hands
you just have to wash it directly after using it and not just put everything in the sink and wait

Not the fact everyone reviving your year old thread but to answer you
I don't live alone, we do both...For bigger items that don't fit we wash by hand or if i don't feel like putting dishes in a dishwasher we just used and cleaned i'll wash by hand...I mostly clean pans and stuff by hand...if something needs soaked we let it soak.
It really just depends, we usually put dishes in the dishwasher and when it's full we run it.
