If you don't like something you don't like it, and the reverse is true. Don't be afraid to speak your opinions on here, but also don't take it personally when people disagree because opinions are subjective. Often people want approval or go with the popular opinion. Still, it's more authentic to say what you truly feel. Also, this is a forum lol---we don't even know each other irl, so no point in holding back for social approval. Be respectful with the way you express your opinions, and it's fine if not everyone likes you. Now, I'm done with all the sappy shit. peace

Couldn't agree more. I am honest with myself and can be blunt at times and will say exactly what I think. If I tread on toes then so be it. I ain't going to sugar coat things just to stay on people's good side. As the rules state - respect that another's opinion can be different to yours but some still insist on giving me "angry" emojis or even worse the glasses one. Just grow up and show some diplomacy. If I don't like a song or comeback, I'll come straight out and say so, I'm not seeking approval or permission from other's here. At the end of the day, it's a them problem, not a me problem.

Exactly, tbh I've disagreed with my friends on here many a time and the reason they are still my friends is that we move on and respect differences in opinion. I respect you for being honest, it a good trait.

It's mentally draining trying to care what people think of me. You either accept me as I am or you don't. If you don't have the common decency to communicate with me if there's a problem, than you're not worth my time. not everyone is going to agree with each other, and everyone has been brought up/raised differently and has different views and values, whether you agree with them or not doesn't mean that either person is a bad person. Personalities clash, on and off screen. Stop acting like this is highschool and you need to be in some huge clique. I'd rather have 3 good friends then 5 backstabbers. IJS -

I actually really agree with this. Everyone says they want opinions and sometimes will ask for them on a topic but then get defensive or say they’re ganged up on when people have different opinions. You can see that even in this thread.
People are saying “yeah I should be able to express my opinion”, then complaining when someone else responds with an emoji they don’t like or when a bunch of users come in with a different opinion. All of those people are giving an opinion on your opinion.
People complain all this time on this site about not being able to give their opinion because “everyone is so sensitive” and I guarantee you can probably find an example of the same person “getting sensitive” about an opinion that they don’t like.
If you’re minding your own business and someone comes in with a hot take, I get why you’re cranky. Like yes, sometimes I would like to talk about NCT doing something good or successful without somebody crashing in to talk about the fucking streams.
But particularly when you lead off with a hot take or controversial opinion, don’t be surprised when you get hot takes back or the controversy you wanted by talking about a hot issue.

except some people also think a user sharing their "controversial opinion" means its free reign to be outright toxic and shitty. We have seen plenty of users get bullied of this site because of this.

tbh this is true. I make a thread expressing my opinion every now and then, and I get the facepalm or read reaction lol. I'm not complaining cuz it means someone read my argument and disagreed if they want to further talk in the thread it's fine I mean, I've amended my opinions before, after getting exposed to other users' viewpoints. But I get your point about users complaining about not being able to express their opinions but then becoming sensitive when they are exposed to an opinion they disagree with.

Yes, some people take it too far…and I’d include myself here because some things I’ve really taken personally that didn’t need to be taken so personally, honestly.
But here’s the thing: didn’t the original user say something outrageous to get attention in the first place?
I’m still going to double down on the fact that if you say something outrageous or give a hot take, that you might get back a reaction - and it may be a negative one and the whole thing may be silly in the scheme of life but I find it frustrating to no end when people say stuff to get attention or a hit thread or whatever, then complain that people got mad, annoyed or whatever. Like wasn’t that your point?
I said quite loudly all over this site that NCTzens don’t follow charts (they don’t or it wouldn’t take so long to get songs to 100M when we’re so close, ayy) and someone called me out and said but yeah now you’re talking about all these charts. And I was like, yeah, valid callout. I’ve changed my mind and find it interesting. But I wasn’t mad about being called out with a whole ass thread about it with lots of “yeah that’s right” snickering comments on it because I gave a lot of loud, hot takes on that subject.
(I honestly thought it was pretty funny like “yup, you got me there, bruh”) -
