Are nugu underrated ?

I don’t think so the more you’re famous, the more you get dragged. But I agree with the best...most of the time, big3 get that title.

nugus are often unfairly critiscized compared to "senior" singers cz they don't have those long time fans to protect them. I remember seeing some people downplaying vocals of Gugudan and WJSN when they debuted when tbh they were as good or even better than some senior vocals.

When people start criticizing nugus, they tend to be precise and meticulous, criticizing way more constructively than seniors. Then when they talk about popular groups, they are often way too harsh or way too kind. The way they criticize change depending on the popularity.

I'm sorry but debut Sejeong was already a high tier vocals among gg, and current Sejeong is still top tier.

the problem with most nugu groups are they simply arent rated. When discussing best vocalist, dancer, and rappers idols from smaller groups are never even brought up for discussion. Also lets be honest most kpop fans think talent=success. They think the reason most nugu groups are unknown is because they are lacking.

If anything,nugu groups are more often criticized for all looking and sounding the same,hence why they're nugu in the first place.

yep because nugu groups don't have big amount of fans to defend them so kpop fans can freely get away with criticizing or dragging them while for popular groups they will get the backlash immediately, so its more comfortable for kpop fans to critisize and drag nugu groups hence nugu groups held to higher standard

Hmmm, I kinda think it works both ways tbh. There's definitely some who are underrated coz they don't get as much exposure and people don't talk about them as much. Then there are also those who are overrated coz they seem top notch at what they do but go through a fraction of the scrutiny that some of the bigger group do.

Like imagine if a main/lead vocal from Blackpink, Twice, Red Velvet, Aespa had a voice crack or something. They'd get dragged forever and a day. If it was someone from a not particularly known group they'd get away with it, at least until they got popular and people revisited their mistakes.

I think people can also be more harsh "publicly" because they know there won't be much users to defend them. Don't have to worry about mob mentality. Vs you bad mouth a popular idol and you can expect the fandom to be on you left and right.

Its the same reason most YouTube reactors act like every music released is the absolute best, they can't be pissing off fans because usually it's mainly fans that are watching the reaction to that particular video.

Same reason they rush their videos for famous groups and take their time with small groups. Kpop is very "political", nobody wants to get "canceled". That's when people go to anon and peeps true opinion shows. If you want to go to see people be critical of top groups, provide anonymity.
