Yujin wasn’t huge in IZ*ONE tho. She was in the middle popularity-wise in the fandom and she only started gaining international recognition when debuting with IVE.

I once made a thread asking people if they knew Yujin, one portion said they never heard of her and another large portion admitted that they never paid attention to her during IZ*ONE

This. And neither was Chaewon tbh. She was kinda in the middle both with ifans and in korea. Altho she was one of the most popular in Japan.

it's rare for a GG to renew post 1st contract

it's rarer for all members of a GG to renew

it's rarer still for all members of a GG to renew and then promote as a group

and to my knowledge it's a single unicorn for a GG whose members have renewed to then have success

they don't have discography yet, they released 4 songs. Two of them are really good. Two of them are not my cup of tea.

Im not sure, i feel like internationally they were both more or less equal before izone's disbandment as Yujin had also gone viral in sequence and it was the era where she gained the most attention, but i do think she was edging Yujin out in korea and japan

I hope so too. Some say that Starship ruined WJSN‘s and Monsta X‘s hype by giving them flop comebacks.

It would be super stupid of SSE to not take advantage of their GP hype, especially since the members seemed to be received this well

They have great music, stage presence, visuals but i would have thought that also counts for groups like lesserafim, kepler, gidle, aespa, itzy, stayc...

Are you saying age is the main factor for their achievements or what is their main feature/difference that make them stand out from the other groups?

Kpop idols don’t stop being popular cause they are old in age and them debuting just a few years later so they are all 18+ isn’t going to make them retire any sooner
