I can't remember why we're not supposed to like him so I'm assuming it's probably for a reason I didn't really care much about in the first place. That said, the hook sounds amazing and maybe Charlie and JK are remembering that rather disastrous awards show performance and they are seeking to restore their honor.

BTS and Puth had a not great performance together in the past, so a bunch of Armys put the blame on Puth to defend BTS. They then dragged Puth by coming up with anything they could to discredit him out of spite, as they do. Some of it stuck in the back of stans' minds.

Oh now it's coming back to me a little bit. That wasn't Charlie's fault. The award show had a ton of technical problems and they didn't even play correct backing track/mix their vocals, which one of the producers (can't remember who) was upset about on Instagram.
Aw I feel bad about people coming after him. I'm on Twitter but my feed is highly curated so i didn't know all that was happening at the time. None of that was his fault and we even saw a Bangtan Bomb where you can hear what the duet was supposed to sound like had the show not royally fucked over Charlie and Jungkook.
Well I'm glad he wasn't scared off by Twitter idiots (Twittiots?) and is willing to work with JK again. The song sounds like it's going to be awesome and I pre-ordered my CD single!

if its the performance im thinking about then i don't think it was just that aspect of the performance which was bad lol
