as a nonfan i have trouble telling apart the members sometimes and i rlly only know karina and winter (by names;i struggle identifying them a lot). also i thought the popularity gap in aespa was pretty obvious

That's just you. I initially didn't understand your question because of its vague phrasing but you're wrong, Enhypen is the most balanced group in terms of popularity. It's really hard to say who's the most and whi's the least popular.

4th gen BGs.
I stan several TXT songs but i legit only recognize two members, Soorin and Kai.
I stan several SKZ songs but i only recognize Felix, Hyunjin and Bangchan.
Ateez has one of the best BG songs of alltime, maybe even #1, but i can't name a single member.
I only know the ice skater in Enhypen because of Music Bank.
Treasure, couldn't name a single member. The Boys, i don't know a single fact about them other than they're under Kakao.

- Nmixx, as someone has said already here, Sullyoon and Lily are by far the most popular. Although it's understandable, they just debuted
- Enhypen, I see non-fans talk about only the same 2-3 members
- IVE, as that is expected
- There is undeniably a popularity gap in Aespa but I don't think it's the same as for these groups because they're only 4 members
- Treasure, as you'd expect of a 12 member group.....

Enhypen has the most balanced in terms of popularity within the fandom. Each one of them has strengths & quite popular. I dont know why people are insisting they are nobody . In SEA countries & Japan, they are popular , they were the most cheered in kpop flex concerts ( their bongs & banners were all over the arena) , they are recently brand endorsers of Nike & Coke in Japan.While some kpoppies love picking on some members to drag them in fws , but all of them trends ww when they have individual or sub-unit guestings, cover or show.

and how can u say most people? do u know most people? if i ask it within kpop fanatics in my country, almost all of them know Enhypen members. Any news abt members are national news. So perhaps, ur world is just different from us so making a sweeping statement is just incorrect.

As u know , Phil / SEA countries are Enhypen’s core fandom. Obviously, NK is famous in Japan cuz he is Japanese but SN is not far behind . Also, if u look at their PCs - most expensive is Heeseung, Jungwon & Sunghoon. Even non- Enhypen fans are collecting Heeseung Hakanai Glasses PC. In SK, it’s SH, JW are more popular. Jay & Jake are also popular outside SK . I would say in SEA countries, they are almost equal in popularity. Heeseung probably just have slight edge cuz he is extremely popular in the Philippines since it’s the core of their fandom. Even no fans know him. He is the only kpop idol who became part of the most searched (top 10 )in the Philippines in 2021.

The only boy groups who's members I can all name are TXT (because I followed them a bit during debut) and Enhypen (because I watched I-Land).
The rest? Lmao.
Ateez has like a BUNCH of songs I freaking love but I really couldn't name a single member if you paid me.
Treasure? Forget about members. Couldn't name even a song.
Straykidz have a couple of bops and but I only know Felix, Hyunjin, and Bangchan.

Chill, no one is comparing the popularity of members within the group.
The OP is saying Enhypen as an example of their opinions and everyone's knowledge of group popularity/fame differs in different countries. Also, some members within a group may be more well-known/famous than others, so they are more recognisable.
It's possible that some people only recognise a few members in the groups because of their individual populartiy or exposure to public, just like the examples quoted above.
