It feels like you’re singing in a completely new style on this song. You were sort of playing a different part than usual.

TAEHYUN: I felt like I was in a situation in that song where I had to act as a kind of bridge. Before, I would try to sing lines like, “I know I love you,” like, This is my part and nobody else in the whole world can sing like me! But this time I focused on building up to the chorus so YEONJUN’s part would really land when it came. That verse took an especially long time to record. …

For me, recording vocals is more about the concentration than being fully immersed, so I focused on the parts that I needed to emphasize, like which syllables should sound strong and which words should be softer. It felt like doing triple clap pushups. It was like I kept falling while trying to clap and repeating the exercise until I was physically fit enough to get all three claps in.“

About his solo part in Opening Sequence, he really rocked it both vocally and dance-wise. It seems that they practised it a lot, it's giving me hope that they would promote it... right?

It was interesting to read about how difficult he found it at first. I never really thought much about it but when I was reading it, I remembered his he said it last time that instead of using emotions he approaching singing and dancing in a technical way. OS required more emotions then technique so it’s understandable that he struggled a bit. That also made me realize how good that song is in terms of teaching him a different approach.

And regarding the lyric and composing part, I guess it is fine that the company is encouraging them to compete with expert songwriters and producers but I can't help but feel sad thinking of how many of their lyrics and compositions might be cast aside.

Same. I do feel sad but at the same time I look at it as a way of them learning. While competing with experienced writers and producers they work hard for it, learn about themselves, music and they get better. Them participating is not given easily, they have to “fight” for it and the more they succeed the happier they will be. All we can do is rooting for them.

I remembered when he said that he felt really awkward during the mv filming of Loser Lover, when he had to give a lovey-dovey look to the camera but he said he didn't feel anything while acting lol. He's really improving and started to explore the emotional side in all the elements such as singing, acting and dancing.

I know. I found it weird at first how he can still do it without using his emotions but then again I’m also an F type, and he is a T-thinker. Lol I had a sense of wonderment when I was thinking about him analyzing all the scene and songs and how he should act instead of trying to place himself there emotionally. I feel like this was a good experience for him and it will help him grow as a person.

I need my own personal Taehyun. Meaning I’m a Feeler but lol sometimes I would love to have somebody around me who would help me figure things out. I’m too clumsy and have a short attention span.
