The song is doing great. I know HP OST always get attention from GP. Hope this will push 17 brand.

i think SM also didn't expect this enormous success with NL hence short promo and overlapping comeback.
SM has saved many great songs looking at their songwritingcamp. Like this leaked bits of a song (idk for who maybe for aespa or maybe not)

Digital performance who knows but if they come out with great song, I think they will do well.
The song performance is not expected , it is very good at this point, one of the best release in 2021. However, NL is a viral song and can’t be defined as a good song/ better song. Digital performance can be go both ways.

Yeah, I forgot about them. Hits after hits.

With this huge success of NL, I wonder how the next comeback will look like. Either way can happen.

But both Winner & iKon got their biggest hits after a hiatus ( Love Scenario & Really really) and they both released immediately after to capitalize on both songs. I mean, iKon released a bonus track, another mini ( w/ Killing Me) and then another mini at the end of the year (w/ Goodbye Road). Same with Winner they had island and a full album with the year success of RR. The public just wasn’t that interested in the groups to the same degree as BLACKPINK (who went on a year hiatus after AIIYL another group hiatus to KTL then another one over a year before HYLT now another one with LSG). Both of their debuts did well on the basis of BB Junior just as BP did. Subsequent releases that went on to success were all built on their names. iKon nor Winner were never that consistent regardless of quality. Winner more so than iKon, but neither were considered digital monsters.
Having BIG HITS after BIG HITS is not an easy task, Winner debut Empty and RR are their big hits while the rest is just minimal, same for Ikon My Type and LS. BP , BTS, Twice and BB are the only idol groups have multiple big hits, initial chart success and/or longevity hits as well.

That’s true but this case happened in 2016 and nothing happened. Then a couple years ago there were reports that yg intimidated HSH but nothing was concretely proven so it was just as is. Now it’s being bought up again for the 3rd time this time YG threanting to kill her.
This is pretty serious, witness intimidation can potentially lead to jail time. So then why did it never make a trial way back in 2016? Or even when HSH said he threatened her in 2019? It smells extremely fishy.
This is me thinking but it seems like police may have known about this and buried it under yg orders. Now with being investigated they’re building up profile of a well connected man who has the police working for him. It’s not the first time very sus things occurred like this, during the height of investigation into YG for tax evasion police withheld searches at YG building. Out of the blue professional disposable companies were spotted leaving the building. Police finally moved in a couple days later. Any real evidence they wanted was likely shredded and removed days earlier.
There was a talk that YG had to send Ikon to Japan to remove from spotlight in Korea and also help the process of remove drug residual in the body. Ikon was active in Japan for the same period, only debuted 1 year and spent like 2 years in Japan, can be questionable.

Seems Gaon data is pretty straightforward
Artist with most number one songs
IU > Big Bang > 2NE1, Sistar, Twice > Huh Gak, Girls' Generation, Davichi, BTS > Zion.T, Taeyeon, Park Hyo-shin
Artist with most weeks at number one
IU > BTS > Big Bang > Twice > Sistar
Artist with most months at number one
IU > Big Bang > Davichi, 2NE1, Psy, BTS > Girls' Generation, Blackpink, Wonder Girls, G-Dragon
I don't see Epik High, BTOB, BOL4 etc.
Twice is far more a Digimon than Blackpink is, understandable given their lack of discography, too many singles.
But sure this can be improved upon, if someone is interested, with some criteria like
At least 3 consecutive releases of Albums/EPs with more at least 4 songs, with
- At least one song in top #5 on Gaon Digital for Topping
- At least one song in top #100 for 50 weeks for Longevity
- All songs hitting within top #25 at least once for B-sides
If an act has 3 such release, then they can be considered a Digimon for that period.
That would trim the above list some more. Everyone else is simply not a Digimon.
It would like to comment on release date also effects the No.1 debut on Goan and Melon for many songs. Both Goan and Melon starts their tracking period on Monday while many songs are released on Wednesday and Friday (for international achievements) .

Next level and Naka performance are so amazing. Naka holds well on the new chart.

To be clear im talking about gaon soty month, which is 30 days counted from release day, so no matter if someone release at the start/end of the monht, everyone is on equal terms. Lilac didnt get melon monthly because it was released at the end of the month and only had 9 or so days of tracking, at the same time rollin was at its peak popularity wise.
For gaon soty month, IU has both celebrity in january and lilac in march. Those two songs also have the highest 30day score for songs released in 2021.
Well, before 2020 charting so long was not the norm, even for huge hits. Basically only fandom streamed songs, with a few exceptions, would chart for months on end.
Yes, few groups/artists are even close to that. They were definitly one group that deserved to be called digimons when they were at their peak.
Goan SOTM is Lilac, Melon is for April, where most of the time Lilac dominated Melon chart, however, Rollins is a monster hit, it ruled Melon chart from March to May.
Here is the list of longest charting song on Melon with at least 53 weeks. There are many song pre 2020, and those songs are very big hit despite not having high initial peaks when it was released. Are these songs fandom stream? I think you opinion on pre-2020 longevity due to fandom stream does not make sense. There is a requirement of at least 90k uls to chart on Melon daily to count for weekly charts. And that number is 2020, back then It would be at least 100k , 120k uls to chart on Melon daily. Longevity is not that simple.

The person in this case got a probation sentence because :
1) it was his first offense; 2) he ordered the illicit substance simply out of curiosity; and 3) the client fully cooperated during the investigation.
Looks similar to B.I, so if this is one example, he might not go to jail.
I got the case but it is example LSD is illegal not like weed. But what I concerned is if he did use LSD allegedly. Then YHS used his influence to get him away of it he is still deserved to be punished by law. It is just fair to everyone.

The term digimon is too watered down to mean anything. When it ranges from someone with 1 or 2 hits to IU with 20+ #1 hits and 20 paks, it doesnt really say much.
I had a post on it on the old forums where i ranked "digimons" into different tiers based on a few set criterias, but its gone now alas...
Basically highest tier S was IU only(basically guaranteed 1m+ ul, pak and #1 monthly with every title release),
Next was A+ tier, where the criteria was something like 1m+ ul on release, > 50% chance of pak and at least 2/3 of the title songs released should have hit #1 on gaon weekly . There were only a few artists that managed this. For active groups then, it was basically only bigbang, epik high and bolb4.
Tier A was bts, twice, blackpink, akmu, taeyeon etc.
then tier b with groups often called digimons because of 1-2 hitsongs, like winner, red velvet, ikon etc.
..
After the 24h chart implementation, the only artists i would still call digimons (so far) are IU, BTS and Yoo Jaesuk.
WINNER had high 24hrs uls for many songs, I think that’s why people called them digital monster. However, in term of longevity, epic high, Bigbang and WINNER don’t do well. Their songs could be out of the chart in less than 7 months.

Korea doesn’t really make a distinction between drugs.
I am not sure about the law, but LSD is definitely stronger drug than weed. It is illegal everywhere, not like weed. Anw, this is what I just searched on google.

it already outpeaked rtl on 24 hits, what is this lol....it's doing so well on melon, it's 37 now and top 50 are all these digimons, i can't believe this
It is impressive.

I have heard the case for a while. I do believe if B.I allegedly used drug in 2016 and got away without any charges, he must be punished by the law now as it is so unfair to others.

To be honest, I don’t know if this news is fake or not. I just did some google search and there are quite amount of articles related to this media play. Unless Hype speaks out, this news is still valid.
