I want to clarify that some users said Spotify chart is better than Melon chart but Spotify counts number of streams and Melon counts number of unique listeners. Also Spotify users are heavily playlists, which does not work for South Korea people. Chart dynamic is very important, which Melon and Koreans needs it. The 50:50 is a very good ratio, particularly for new songs, which repeated plays in first few hours can help the songs chart better. The old real-time was already damaged badly, so I feel alright with this new chart.

To me, this new information about Spring Day tells me it is a cult hit among BTS fans. If a song cant manage even ONE DAY on top of Melon, how can you possibly call it a "national hit" or the one of the greatest hits of all time? Just think about any competition in life, you cant call someone a champion if they cant manage to come in first place even just one time.

I'm not even asking for much at all. Not asking for song of the month or song of the week, just one lousy day where it was on top. Is this really too much to ask of a national hit?

You forget SD has 7.1 million uls on melon, only 4 songs achieve this. DNA has 5.4 million uls . These are very big number. Many songs hit no.1 melon does not have this many uls.

Kreatin pre-2020 there was also a flood of complaints regarding streamers and chart manipulations through it.

Didn’t say that hit songs havent happened for the last ten years? Hit songs would do less pre-reform, and there would be more movement on the chart simply due to the factors that was depreciated on 24hits. The fact of the matter is there’s a clear transparency in their new system and that the songs are indeed reflection of Public’s popularity.

I know they’re backtracking, but only to give more movement to the chart. It’s already better than the previous one, imo. Moreover, regarding comparison of old songs regarding longevity, tbh, not really? Using #1s as a sample is truly shortsighted. There are already revealing cases of songs having bad longevity despite peaking high. In fact, Next Level is also a case of having “shorter” longevity at their peak. Though you’d find more cases of songs dropping way lower 🤷‍♂️

I checked the real time chart yesterday, real time chart was flooded with trot songs, very disappointing, even though the 24hits system already implemented

one of the only things i dislike about GDA is the fact for albums... albums with i think less than 6 songs... aren't counted. (eg. Butter CD isn't eligible to win the daesang despite it being the best selling "album" of the year")

But no awards considered 4-songs EP is an album. Grammy even requires album need to have minimum 6 tracks or 30 minutes play time or something (I am not sure about definitely 4-tracks EP is not an album)
