My problem is Jimmy Kimmel and many of these talk show hosts has positioned themselves as super liberal elites who call out conservative Republicans like Trump for their racially driven rhetorics, yet Kimmel and others have been guilty of doing the same. The reason many of these popular liberal media do not call each other out for their own racially driven undertones is because it does not fit their narrative and mold on what is considered racism.
And considering Stop Asian Hate was such a big thing a few months back, there is no way Jimmy actually thought it would be okay to compare BTS to Covid.
Kimmel's statement has racist overtones, but I agree that Billboard made it 100 times worse. They put out a racist headline tying BTS and COVID together and then to pile on and add insult to injury, blamed it on an Asian actress (ethnically Korean) who didn't say that.
I know saying an Asian artist and COVID and dangerous immediately seems in bad taste but I think the intention was to say you’re so overwhelmed on meeting them hence the use of the world ‘dangerous’. Anyway if you just play that clip my first thought was not “racist” until it was paired with that billboard headline.
Tbh I don’t think the original interview clip was trying to be particularly racist including Jimmy Kimmel. Probably in bad taste but I don’t think he meant to be racist.
But Billboard article’s title is extremely racist and it’s there to invoke hate.
lol i know, i was just making a general comment aimed at those Blinks who were shading Teddy for being "stale" and shading a megabop like HYLT the literal day it came out
Funny thing is so many AKPers, even Blinks, bitch about those songs and how samey samey they sound, yet they are literally BP's most popular songs globally. BP tried something different with Ice Cream and LSG, and we saw IC flopping everywhere outside the US and LSG flopping everywhere outside Korea.
Ok? I never said doing the same thing many times was bad lol.

not everyone needs massive touring power to make money
How are the average kpop groups doing touring-wise compared to the tours of other non-english singing acts??
Everyone tours in their home country. That’s the problem with Kpop. It’s a very small country. Without hallyu they can’t break even being a smaller act. Bigger countries don’t need to leave to make money.

I was pointing out on aespa have huge potential in japanese market . Look at the receipts in here, I haven't see it for a long time on how a SM group could have massive interest in Japan even before they are stepping foot in there. Usually BH and JYP groups garnering more interest than SM group.
I also think the same. Mabe few years later they will going there with half ass promo just like their senior doing these years. It's a mystery to me on why SM stop giving a damn in japanese market and continue their obsession with the west.
Hopefully SM staffs stumbled upon this thread and changes their mind
IKR it makes no sense. But with Chinese market completely down unlike with the case of during RV and EXO’s time maybe they’ll promote Aespa there? Idkidk. Japan is such an important market and SM stays away from it.
Doubt SM will send them there. This has been the case for some years now their acts always show promising results in Japan and then never promote there doubt it’ll chnage worth aespa.
EXO were the youngest group of their time to have a dome tour
LMR Japanese version topped BB100 and Korean version also charted in their top 40 for a considerable amount of time.
Their debut single album was certified platinum.
They had everything going for them in 2014-15 and SM did nothing with that.
im actually amazed how some of you can accept buying coutnerfeit /replica. That's basically violatinf intellectual property rights and is illegal. Supporting that is like supporting illegal downloads of movie and music. Puttinh yourself in those designer / artists shoe, what would you think if fake items of yours is being sold?
It is also super contradicting from some of you. on one hand, you all hate the luxury brands and wouldnt want to suppor them, and on the other hand u support (not condemning) buying fake luxury brands to make you feel good / appear luxurious. Like, if you cannot afford the luxury brands, just go for whatever brand that is affordable to you. Youdont need to buy into that luxury brand name
No I don’t feel any remorse esp not movies and music lol
I might feel something for independent artists or creators but nope. Absolutely no remorse for blockbuster movies and designer brands
I support when I can because it’s easier to get things legally but I have no holier than thou stance on illegal consumption
