When numbers are that small percents look bad lol but dropping 40-50k or even 70k in sales is common. So yeah not unusual.

I think the international digital dominance of BGs and the domestic digital dominance of GGs are good enough indications of a new gen.

Meaning 4th gen BG have mostly beaten all of the 3rd gen BGs in international streams.

And a 4th gen GG has the biggest digital hit of 2021.

I think these are good enough indications for a shift.

The only difference is they have a hit girl group while FX fizzled out too quickly and RV didn’t reach the level of their counterparts.

Do they really have a 4th gen BG. Lol that’s why separating generation is so useless. But they haven’t had a leading BG since the middle of 3rd gen and that hasn’t changed now. EXO trailed behind BTS and NCT still trails behind BTS. I’d say they’ve only gone down in the BG department since EXO did have far more digital relevance and for their time had the corresponding 2nd best international metrics for a BG as well. Can’t say that for NCT.

So yeah sales have gone up all round but in terms of comparative standing NCT is worse of than EXO were.

TLDR : they’re having a hit GG since SNSD good for them.
