scottykins How many journals do you have for writing?
I get one at a time, and when I finish one I buy another. I have, probably, 7 journals stacked up in my closet that I've used over the years
it can absolutely be both.
Dear, what I like to do is keep a journal with me, I call it my idea journal, though Im sure Im not the first to discover the name lol
I use this journal to write down all my ideas, whether its for songs, concepts, essays, rants, stories, whatever. I write the time, date, and my location of this idea at the top, then write the idea beneath it
That way, when my ideas slip (My ideas usually come to me like dreams, I think about them for a second and then when I try to remember it a second later, I forget), I have them saved and written down for later so I can recollect it, add to it, and start writing
Theres also the brain dump, where you have an idea for a story and you dump out all your ideas from your brain to a page, just any details at all, maybe significant words or phrases, character names, themes, plot points, events, etc
Writers tend to know what they want to write and the story before writing, but these tactics can help you remember as well as plan out for future reference.
You CAN write to improve, and thats usually what writers do as beginners, they dont write necessarily because they have to, but because they want to expand on that expression and learning, practice makes perfect
You can also know beforehand, its best to have an idea instead of going on a page before knowing, but that can also be something you do.
Writing has no rules, you want a story, make a story. Whatever you desire
dont know what the point of this comment was, I did my research, looked through the looking glass, and wrote my post. I did what a journalist does in journalism. dont put me on a pedestal like Im above you just bc thats what I do for a living, nobody is untouchable and that is, again, the point of my post. I also never said youre an orbit. I dont have to act all professional outside of that time, Im 17, I have time to be a teenager... So stop bothering me and making up fake things lol, I have better things to do
yeah.. youre proving the point of my article and also that I said orbits are toxic in response to you saying orbits are good people.
my post was never about which fandom is better or who is more deserving, but thats what youre turning this conversation into and its a sad thing as that is not what my intent was with this post, nor should it be the message you got out if it.
my post was about how they should be treated equally and fairly, but youre making it some fan war
this convo is over though, goodnight!
Lol
Agree with what? WHat both sides of the argument?
Again. One make a boycott succesfully, the other dont. For what you write, looks like rizee fans dont care enough for Seungham. That in my book makes orbits better, maybe they care more, maybe they are more efficient. In both cases that only makes them look better than rizee fans. Mmm, wait, im missing something here, do you think the boycott to BBC was a bad thing?
where did I say that?? read my essay again, bc youre just proving the same points I make or asking me things that I already spoke on, even if the last line I defend loona.. I dont pick sides, I dont say loona boycott is okay and riize isnt, or vice versa. dont make things up
Seems like youre just another toxic orbit ive run into, so i can see why you wouldnt agree lol
but I look at both sides of the argument because thats what is supposed to happen when writing an essay, I study journalism so I take the process very seriously.
And yes, Orbits are, like I said, not "better people" than briize, so your statement really makes no sense, and it actually just reflects on you, like i stated in my essay, because you believe his dreams deserve to be crushed because??? his fans are "bad"? what does that mean for loona, then?
I feel like as the generations go further and further, more people are becoming idols not because they have a passion for music or even a talent, but just because they want to be famous and taken care of (most idols usually have all their living expenses cared for by the company)
well, atleast they are better than rizee fans.
what do riize fans do? ive seen and experienced orbits telling ppl to harm themselves or doxx them just because they disagree with them, and its a pretty common thing to joke abt on tiktok and twt, so im sure youve seen it.. or maybe youre trying to ignore it? but ive never seen a riize fan do anything nearly as bad
Loona fans are better people.
Maybe to other orbits
Why is it that some boycotts are pushed more than others?
When you think of boycotts within kpop, your first thought is probably about the BBC boycott.
Since then, boycotts have seemed to be on the rise, with people boycotting more companies and groups for a variety of reasons. But why is it that some of these boycotts are taken more seriously and cared for more than others?
Because there are so many and this is the main point of my post, I'll be talking mostly about RIIZE and Loona.
Recently, RIIZE fans have started a boycott against SM where they refuse to support comebacks, merchandise, and shows to show their support for Seunghan and his return from his unfair forced hiatus.
Seunghan had a dream to become a kpop idol, but since he had "negative publicity", he had to be removed, and has seemingly been forgotten by the company.
When the BBC boycott began, it was taken very seriously from the very start. Even now, you can see people online ridiculing anyone who streams or promotes LOONA in any way that isnt in terms of the boycott, in very toxic ways. You can tell it's not taken lightly.
But with RIIZE, their monthly listens on Spotify only seem to be going up, and people post videos of themselves openly spending money or streaming for RIIZE with no shame. And the people that see these videos dont seem to say anything about the boycott or discourage the person from supporting at all.
I took the time to speak to a few of these people to see what they had to say so I can understand them a bit better. To no surprise, some blocked me after I mentioned the boycott. But here is what I got out of the ones who messaged me.
Some told me they assumed it'd be okay to buy tickets to their tour because the boycott was "fizzling out". The boycott never fizzled out, it will fizzle out when Seunghan comes back. Because that is the point of the boycott. Some people tend to stop caring after a week, but that doesnt mean the boycott "fizzled out", it just means that person was trying to be performative and pretend to care because people were talking about it and voicing their outrage of the mistreatment.
I also heard the very common excuse or defense, "Other people were doing it so I thought it would be okay to do that."
If people do it, thats their own fault and a reflection on the person they are. And it is also a reflection on you, as well. It's the definition of bandwagon.
Seunghan and LOONA were both taken advantage of and mistreated. Both had dreams of being idols and because of companies that see them as cashcows, they were put at a disadvantage.
They both experienced the same thing, so why are the boycotts for both of them treated so differently? What does this truly stem from, because it cant possibly be out of love or care for the idols or wanting whats best for them.
If a minor wants to debut with a company and has their parents consent I have no problem with an idol pursuing their dreams. They have the ability to choose and understand the risk of entering a very demanding yet potentially financial rewarding profession.
Freedom is a wonderful thing especially when you can change you and your family’s financial well-being because of a great opportunity.
youre right and sadly companies take advantage of desperate people like that and take their children and exploit them in ways their young, optimistic minds wouldnt understand
With all the stuff going on between Min Heejin and HYBE at the moment, I feel like this was a long overdue take that I can finally bring myself to make now that its the topic of conversation.
I'm sure we have all seen the comments about how companies need to stop debuting young idols because of the fans sexualizing them, but that is only the tip of the iceberg. To see the true issue, we need to look deeper to find the real issue.
This has always been an issue within kpop, since the very beginning. Kpop idols have been debuting as young as 12 or 13 for a long time now, but even with the recent spark of concern, the amount of idols debuting young have been increasing and so have the amount of fans these groups have.
People say we should stop debuting young idols, but have we done anything to stop it besides complaining online in comment sections and the occasional post? No.
All of the big groups at the moment are full of minors, or at least were mostly minors at debut, for example New Jeans, IVE, Le Sserafim
We complain and rant against idols debuting young, but while people are boycotting groups because of mistreatment, we never boycott the groups or companies that debut idols at such young ages. Most of those who make these comments stan groups that have those same minors in them that they discourage so much..
But where does the problem really come from? The fans? No.
We always talk about creepy fans and I have seen so many videos of people talking about the big amount of male voices in the audience toward female groups with cute concepts. This is where Min Heejin comes into this rant.
Min Heejin has produced groups such as NewJeans, EXO, SHINee, f(x), and Girls Generation. These are all names you'll probably recognize.
Most of these groups have something in common, too. Their cutesy concepts with the undertones of sexualization.
Cookie is the most well known example. The lyrics of the song are so obviously innuendos, but also have that childish innocence to them that make groups like this the target of predators.
Just look at SHINees debut and immediate hit, Replay. A bunch of young boys singing about their "noona". Of course a noona can be as little as a year older, its pretty clear the intentions when all members were 15-18 years old and their fans were mostly women in the 30s and above.
and Girls Generation, possibly even the prototype of NewJeans, they portrayed a very innocent concept at debut with very young members all with a girl-next-door kinda vibe to them, but you can even find performances of them with pig tails dressed up very young with lollipops in their hands, singing about love and kissing... not hard to see whats going on there.
Its no wonder these idols have such young appearances for their concepts, because of the "demographic" they reach for.
Predators will sexualize and let their imaginations run wild with anything. The true problem with companies. Its not hard to see that the companies are the ones putting the children into harms way, not the fans. They exploit children knowing creeps will eat up anything they do.
She wants all the resources and privilege that the company can give, and then have all the success credited to her
sounds abt right lol
They would throw NJ under the bus if it meant punishing MHJ. The moment she worked with V to produce his album she was a marked woman. Their minds are already made up, she is guilty no matter what.
youre seriously claiming that this is bc people are jealous she worked with v?? she is a CREEP!!! who sold idols and companies info (especially MINORS)
did inappropriate songs and concepts with minors (some of which literally made them the target of creeps like for instance when she had fx do a very risky and suggestive choreo that ended in a minor member being exposed BECAUSE of the choreo and men were searching up images and videos of the incident for their own "use"
and is now trying to drag other groups saying they copied her "concept"...
not to mention shes been a "marked woman" for a while now, before she worked with V.. maybe you just havent been paying attention?
its definitely not just translation accounts, i see it on all different types of pages on all different types of sites
i mean emojis are for the groups stans to know only right? there are a million 🐰’s in kpop but i only know it as soobin. don’t really care about the other 999,999 idols it represents. as for fans giving idols their own emojis, i don’t really know much abt that because i only know txts representative emojis and they selected theirs themselves. it’s a unanimous agreement on both sides. and it’s impossible to have each idol assigned to a different emoji… just remember your faves and theirs
but like i said its confusing when a multistan posts saying "wondering what *cat emoji* is doing rn" who is that? yoongi? niki? ten? johnny? lee know? WHO IS THATTTTT and thats also the point of my post, if everyone is going to do it and theres not enough emojis for everyone,,, why not just use their name? or a nickname? Nobody else other than kai goes by KAMAL....
