K-Pop Stans' Bad Reputation: Exaggeration or Truth?

  • Me before listening to K-Pop: Have you seen all these stories? Better stay away! :pepe-cross:

Me after listening to K-Pop: Hey, it's not like that. It's quite nice, actually. 2x

Me after after getting deeper: Shit, everything was true. Retreat! :pepe-back-away:

    What about you?

  • But honestly, other industries are like 10x worse.

For example the film industry in Kerala(where I come from, not live but I was born there). There's this actor that sent out these guys to

So yeah, compared to what I have witnessed, the kpop industrie's problems are a grain of salt.

  • youre going to have to be more specific about what "reputation" you're talking about.

honestly speaking kpop is hardly worse than any other industry, music or otherwise. the curtains have just been pulled back on the inner workings of the kpop industry from day one

  • the bad stuff about kpop is all true

we the fans just choose to ignore it cause of the things we like about it

and there are a lot of people who hate kpop for no reason too

those people are just insecure lil shits

  • When I got into it hardly any people know kpop and there wasn’t Twitter or YouTube to see fanwars. Interestingly those days I was on a forum too but we didn’t have trolls. There were some clicks but they avoided each other both online and offline. It was great to have offline meetings lol We used to have monthly kpop-jpop party in the capital city and used to meet up.

I was talking about the fans, let me make the title clear, I didn't want to make it too long

Salman Khan literally murdered people. The whole Indian film industry is f*cked up!

  • I follow alot of things in my life to keep me busy during my free time so I am not spending alot of time on any particular interest of mine to go deeper into that interest. So I more often than not don't come across "bad sides" of the things I follow. That's why I always end up feeling people are exaggerating whenever I see people talk about these "bad sides".

Ehh it’s nothing that’s not common in other fandoms or the rest of the internet. I suppose if someone’s never been in fandoms kpop would scare them. But yeah this is how fandoms in general operate.

This is another good point. Most kpop fans are young people who haven't seen alot of internet or when it was at worst i.e. 2014-16. So they really don't know how toxic internet can be hence whenever they come across even slight toxicity, they end up thinking it was the worst.
