I forgot to leave my comment.
Well, they're the ones not interested in groups, what do they want companies to do? Pay Koreans to stream on Melon?

Ever since I-land, there were far more overseas fans than domestic fans,
What
not reading all this long text
“Let’s completely ignore male idols then get mad when their companies look elsewhere for money” lmfao be serious
I read it, and I kinda agree. It's better to build a domestic fanbase than an international fanbase. But it's way harder to build domestic fanbase, especially when many groups aren't getting good digital scores. It's easier to sell physicals these days in K-pop.

Yup.
Also agree with the part that people abroad turn to kpop because it's different from what's in the charts. I turned to kpop because of that, the lyrics, the choreographies, the styles, etc.
If that starts fading away it's just like listening to another western act.
I can see that happening with my faves so I'm starting to lose interest.
One day the west will move on to other things and all that nice, easy cash will be gone. Better to build a solid fanbase at home to guarantee success in the long run. I'm thinking of the likes of Suju and Shinwa, for instance.
yeah companies didn't need to cater to the international fans at first place if more koreans would have supported the idol industry
Korean kpop fans are possibly the most entitled music fans I've ever seen in any genre or industry. You could tell exactly what their actual complaint was by like the second or third paragraph. Then sure enough, here comes the xenophobia and "I-roaches."
Also, companies are turning abroad because the Korean market is over-saturated. It's harder to build a core domestic fanbase, which is why they turned to international markets in the first place. The groups might be niche abroad but when the music market is big enough, even niche can be very successful and pay the bills versus staying only in Korea and disbanding after two comebacks because the market is over-saturated.
It's not only male idol it's the same for GG : Dreamcatcher, Loona, Everglow ...
Absolutely true. So many fantastic songs from mid tier and nugu GGs and soloists in the past couple years. Like i'm talking 20 SOTY contender type songs from Loona, Cherry Bullet, Rocket Punch, Weki Meki, Everglow, Weeekly, etc, but Korea pays them dust, while rewarding other crappy Kpop and ballad and "rap" songs that have no business being anywhere near the top of Melon .
Wait. And aren't nugu bg thriving because of international fans?
They should thank us.
Where are they getting their stats again? K-netizens are too full of themselves. Most k-pop idols are famous bcos of international fans. Do they think gg can be million sellers if not for us?
