It still scares me that many Vip still support Seungri. Is the influence of kpop as bad as that until they still support a criminal involved in sex scandals, rape and prostitution that all involve women. While most of his fans who still support him are also women. This is very sad especially for the victims. Imagine a criminal who ruined their life is still welcomed and supported by many people. I always remember, moral over kpop and when you do the opposite, it means you have become obsessed and need to stop. He will not be punished if he is indeed innocent and his punishment for me is still not commensurate with what he did. Imagine supporting someone who is complicit in ruining another woman's life. Very low.
Can I know why a lot of people still supporting Seungri? Like they're okay with what he's done?

Well believe it or not, in kpop blind stanning is very common
Majority of VIPs already abandoned him, it's just some of the vips that are in the minority of supporting him -

It is very disgusting, especially as a woman. He's trending on Twitter and it just full of women supporting him and I just can't believe my eyes.

I am blessed with a filtered twitter, I don't see any of this shit unless I go looking for it and I don't go looking for it. Fortunately it doesn't happen in the forums anymore.
That being said, he had always taken the back seat in bigbang I can't even understand how anyone who stanned bigbang would have him as a bias. Hewas so insignificant and didn't offer anything that the other members didn't do so much better than him.

I can't support him after what he did. I can't believe people are to be perfectly honest. I guess some fans are either very loyal or forgiving or maybe both.

Honestly this was one of the reasons it was so easy to drop him (except the scandal and him being a slimeball). Even before the scandal I had been toying with the possibility of an ot4 comeback to fill the gap between him and the other members finishing their military service. Seungri always lacked compared to the other members and I wanted to see what they could do without him there holding them back. I won't pretend I wanted him kicked out of the group pre-scandal but it was never like he contributed anything worthwhile music-vise. He was good at variety shows and that was it.

Why is it surprising lol. People who’ve done so much worse in the west are still popular. In the end people don’t care.
Is it right? Not really. But do I care enough? Also no. Entertainment is an escape for people. They’ll make excuses for the thing that brings them happiness. It is what it is. I wish I had the energy to care about what others liked and supported if it’s not of no consequence to me.

i think there is something else in kpop aside from wanting entertainment and not caring for anything else. many kpop fans treat their fandoms as a cult and their faves as an extension for themselves. sometimes i feel like people refuse to drop their faves after such crimes because they don't want to admit that their judgement was so faulty and, again, because they have always acted like their faves were an extension of themselves and a reflection of their morals. think of it like refusing to admit that your own child is a criminal because you raised them yourself.

Only a small minority is still supporting him and it’s not worth mentioning him. Why bring him up now that BB has announced their comeback? He isn’t part of the Group anymore and therefore he and his Stan’s are irrelevant to BB and the VIP’s who are OT4 now, which is the vast majority!
About peoples opinion towards prostitution. Believe it or not but a lot of people think prostitution should be legal. Not for those who pay for sex, but for those who get paid for it. It creates a much safer work atmosphere and countries with legalized sex work also saw a decrease of rape and sexual assault…
The thing is, a lot of people see prostitution as an expression of patriarchal violence towards women and therefore many think that in no way could a woman have consent selling sex without being forced to it. Which leads to this hyperbolization of sensational generalizations like ALL sex workers are abused, ALL sw are forced, ALL sw are victims etc and therefore ALL women needs to rescued. So they want it to be criminalized. So if they see someone who thinks it’s better to be legal, they think they are in support of all of this or in this current situation in support of someone( a man) who got involved in a prostitution scandal.
So having a debate with people who have very strong opposing views about this topic is quite complicated. A lot is also cultural differences too, if you live in a country where prostitution is legal and the general stigma towards it has lowered as well, you might indeed view it as less problematic than others.
Since this isn’t a topic discussed in a Kpop forum, we didn’t saw peoples general opinion towards that. The only time this topic came up was because of the BS scandal involving Seungri. In this situation I can understand why some people might think that stating that prostitution should be legal in a case that involves sex crimes committed by men looks like a defense for an Idol who is involved . But it’s not.
Many have opinions towards certain topics and they won’t change their opinion just because that topic was brought up in a scandal.

This is because asian is different from the west. The only reason I care because some who defend him are trying to make prostitution look right, or even a need. Some of them probably just a kids who don’t understand and just pretend to be adults. Not because it's seem normal so people need to see it as normal especially if it happen in the west, I mean since when west is a good example for things related to crime. In the end, people do care as those people is a public figure, and that's why people need to care so his stupid fans didn't think what he's done is right.

I usually don't pay attention to rumors, since they're rumors and they can be true or false.
So I haven't kept track: what exactly has Seungri been proven guilty of?
Did he participate in the BS rapes? Or was he aware that they happened and condoned them, even encouraged the people doing them? Or was he aware actual rape happened, and did nothing?
I'm no VIP, but from what I recall from a BB interview long before the whole BS happened, Seungri was already distancing himself from BB to the point that the other BB members were commenting on it: how the BB members went on to do stuff, while Seungri went his own way to do other stuff. And the BB members warned Seungri about the friends and circles he was hanging out in.
As for prostitution, that's an entirely different discussion: from what I recall it's legalised in some countries, the argument being that taking prostitution out of the criminal circuits will make the positions of the actual sex workers stronger and safer.
