TWICE cancels all fan-meetings in US, and other promotions. Group to focus only on concerts.

Honestly smart and wise idea. The spread never stopped here in the US and the safety of everyone is most important for both the girls and ONCE!

Wise decision. Concerts have been quite safe so far as long as most people have masks but there's no need to expose artists to very close contact with fans.

But isn't the concert still putting people at risk? A large group of people in one place is the opposite way of preventing covid. I mean same thing happened with Spider-Man, everyone went to see it in packed cinemas and cases spiked.

I know right…. there’s no social distancing when I looked at tickets a few weeks back, so not sure how not having a small fanmeet will help… maybe prevent Twice members from getting it, but fans? nahhh…. lol

Also wonder if tickets will be discounted or refunded, I know some venues were selling tickets as packages with backstage passes and what not.

Depends on the group of people. The BTS concerts at SoFi Stadium did not become a super spreader event, despite the stadium being sold out every night.

I don't blame them, I feel like that's a really smart idea. Idols and fans health should be first priority in this situation so I'm glad they made this answer to the rise of COVID here.

Vaccination cards were also required or a negative test before coming in. Not every venue requires it like SoFi and depends on the concert organizers.

And Omicron wasn’t as prevalent at that time.

That is the responsability of the State, to take care of their people. In the other case, JYP have to watch for the health of the girls. Also, if they catch covid now they couldnt continue with the tour. So, smart move, that company did something right for a change.

Not really people more like the event holders and the safety measures they put in play such as covid passes, negative tests, spaced seating etc.

I don't know what went on with BTS concert and because there was no spike I guess they had good protocols in place. However when I went to see Spiderman ever time at my local multi screen (UK) there was zero distancing, food was being sold and staff never looked at covid passes despite the booking site recommending them. The only measure most people took was to wear mask but in my viewings maybe half did. Looking at local covid cases my area had a massive spike for a month. Luckily I never got infected but the chances were always high.

So if the event organisers hold Twice concerts to the same level as those during BTS then I guess it can work. But then if they can do that for a big concert then shouldn't be easier to put protocols in place for smaller fan meets so both idols and fans can meet relatively safely?

Self isolation for a few days until symptoms disappear or tests come back negative if asymptomatic. Though I don’t think anyone really follows that anymore….

Haven't multiple groups been holding concerts in the US over the last few weeks? Where has all this fake concern come from.

JYPE hadn't even announced any promotions and the tour dates is what's making them most of the money, it makes sense why they would go ahead with one and not risk the other.

Though I'd question their planning and thought process if all their promotion was dependent on live events that they now can't do due to something everyone knew could be a problem.

Their primary concern is Twice getting covid from fans, hence no fanmeets. Don’t think they’re concerned about covid in general.

I have health problems and I live with my old parents one of who is diabetic. Of course I fear covid you shit for brains. I take every precaution I can get to minimise getting infected. Not everyone is healthy enough to go round ignoring vaccines and shouting MAGA like you want.

For the richest 1st world country around its amazing how almost a million have died from covid while other 3rd world countries have managed covid much better.
