TWICE cancels all fan-meetings in US, and other promotions. Group to focus only on concerts.

Yup, SoFi stadium where SuperBowl was held is the same venue where BTS did their concert for 4 nights (all sold out).

I remember reading my TL that eventhough there should be a strict protocol of checking vaccination passes to enter the concert premise, in the end, it was only 60-70% implemented because SoFi don’t have enough staffs to check every single person. But having said that, BTS were lucky that the concerts were held when cases were down and omicron were just starting.

Anyway, I think continuing with the concerts but cancelling fan meets is a good move for JYP.

The statement says Twice's health is their number one priority. They got rid of fanmeets as it's one less event that they can potentially contract Covid from which may jeopardise the main money maker that is the tour dates.

I feel this decision is incredibly simple and clearly makes sense from a companies perspective yet some of the posts in here are acting like it's not.

i mean, Democrats are basically coming around to easing restrictions and that was the only hold out. I live in a republican state and we’ve been normal since last summer (if not earlier).

So the world may not be moving on, the US is. 2k ppl dying a day isn’t enough for the general population to remained mask. The majority always gets their way and sadly if the virus poses a threat to you, your either unvaccinated or have a condition, but being minorities.

This announcement is definitely weird since it’s rumored Biden will announce a return to normalcy in his SOTU speech.

That and most BTS fans didn’t even mind the requirements since they were told in advance. Many were young and supportive of the strict requirements especially those coming from overseas, so it wasn’t too big of a deal that staff couldn’t check each individual person. Fans were prepared to honor the requirements just in case staff did check.

Can’t say the same for Superbowl fans who are probably 50% anti-maskers and anti-vaxx.

Normalcy would really just mean social distancing protocols and mask requirements would be lifted. But if you have covid you’d probably still be under quarantine, which would be a general requirement for any illness really…. so if any Twice members caught covid, no way they’d be able to perform, especially if they’re symptomatic.

Umm, guys, do you know that if just one member of Twice get covid then it would disrupt the whole US tour, could you imagine how many of those tickets would be refunded back to thousands of people. Just follow the safety protocols inside the concert venue, ffs. This is a calculated risk when holding live concerts however, artists' health takes priority here.
