Treasure bought in their own money. They sold a lot of merch over 2021 and some endorsements as well. Not to mention their physical sales. It is their money. Also, this is Treasure's first high-budget mv, not the first in the agency as several BP and BB were also high production mvs.

Also, YG has many income sources besides music. So it's not like they need one artist to comeback to pay for another.

I think Treasure brought in some money through endorsements and merch sales, also their album sales thats why YG could afford that payement.

In addition, album sales don't generate that much revenue unless you sell really well with little investment. For example, YG had to produce like 3 or 4 albums for treasure and while the albums sales were relatively good not sure if it was too profitable since they had to cover production costs + webdrama and other web shows produced by YG.

I think you shouldn't underestimate the amount of merch they sold out, it really makes a ton of money for YGE. And the albums sales from their previous releases is enough to justify this budget.

Deserved. I can’t believe people really thought YG is bankrupt lol. Besides BP being the biggest money-maker group after BTS, YG is still a big agency that has many things that make money. Not to mention as much as people want to discredit Treasure’s achievements. Didn’t they sell 1m albums in one year? Add it with their other earnings, 500k is nothing for them.
