Anyone else get awful secondhand embarrassment when idols have to act silly?

Random thing but in Time to Twice, they do this not very often but when they do, they get snacks earlier, usually the idols share with those who don't get a lot of snacks. But usually there are a lot more chances for them to get food and then most of the mini-series end with a big meal

depends on the act itself and the context but really the idols are just trying to entertain us the audience...

and like all forms of entertainment - sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't

I get secondhand embarassment too, but sometimes the funniest part is other people reactions to it

When people were calling JR the "agyeo king" just for being funny while making ramen soup on Weekly Idol ...

As A.C.E debuted they blamed themself on TV with the answer "I have no idea what I'm even doing, I just got this from Chan" than pretends his older sis has to buy him a cheeseburger and you clearly saw them dying inside

sure some people will find it annoying or cringe or whatever but that's why idols do different types of variety content to appeal to different audiences...

and even for aegyo - sometimes it is cringe - other times it's cute

If they're comfortable to do so, I guess it's fine. But TXT has their own variety show where they can do whatever they want, so they always seem have fun with it.

But indeed there're times when they feel cringe or uncomfortable in certain variety shows, doing weird things, force aegyo and so on. It's painful to watch. I'd rather they become guest in this kind of show

A lot of aegyo is really cringy. But I love watching Nayeon do it because it's so natural for her and she really good at it, arguably the best by even non fans. But there's also some of my faves whose personality it just doesn't fit but do it for TV and I can't finish some of the clips lol

i think it's so embarrassing for the idol... nobody wants to see a 25 year old acting like a 2 year old just because some 43 year old man asked them to.

Oh I'm usually fine with that since it's clearly just lighthearted and a big part of Korean comedy. I don't think most idols mind looking a little silly (pretty sure some even find it fun), and they often get a reputation for being funny because of it.

Lol Some variety can be cringy as hell. I remember the old variety shows when they made them do things like eat a Pocki or what it’s called between two idols. Or pass the paper sheet from mouth to mouth. Or fish out a candy from a tray of flour. All these used to be cringy as hell because you could see them being uncomfortable af.

I haven’t watched variety show for a while because I don’t have time anymore but I do like variety shows and it seem like these days most tv channels listen to the fans and they stopped most of the stupid games. Except Aegyo. That’s not gonna disappear. Korean fans seem to like seeing grown ass man acting like a 5 year old.
