honestly, YG's strategy is stupid.
It really isn't a strategy, it is more of YG doesn't know how to do their job. Long hiatus don't build hype, they destroy hype. It's a fact that's widely known.
Blackpink would be soo much bigger than they are now if YG gave them more comebacks and promoted them properly.
Exactly. People saying the hiatuses are YG's way of starving Blinks to make them buy more albums when they finally come out are either trolling or not thinking right.
Blinks bought 3.1 million albums in the past 18 months. HYLT single, The Album, Rose and Lisa albums. This is literal top 5 boy group territory.
When YG offers music, Blinks go crazy over it, regardless of whether they waited two years for it or four months.

Isn’t this like their third year long hiatus? It’s kinda ridiculous at this point, not just BP but all YG artists in general. How are you going to give no group activities to your biggest money makers and have no comeback for your rookie boy group. I truly wonder how YG stays a float when none of their artists have comebacks. They must make most of their money off actors and other subsidiaries.

the difference is bp went up against said hiatus and got bigger and bigger each year which is not common anymore as 3r gen and specially 4th gen groups drop so much content and cmbs in one single year
al least this hiatus was filled with rosé and lisa solo, both with 2 mvs (money performance)
so if they can do cmb - then tour - then jisoo solo this year that would be good imo

I remember Lee Hi mentioning that YG is only able to promote a few artists per year.
It's so dumb that they can't change that.
People must be already forgetting who some of their artists are, and they plan to debut another girl group on top of that.
