Has anybody here gone clubbing before?

First and last time in 2012

My class was on a 5 day trip and the camp we stayed hat had a big free-time area including a kids-place with slides, a swimmingpool, a cinema, a burger-place, a grocery store and a disco.

Most people in my class wanted to go to the disco. Everyone under 18 could stay till midnight and since you can drink beer at the age of 16 my teacher thought to buy everyone (over 60 students) a beer ... the disco was pretty small so us around 70 people plus maybe 30 other visitor made the room almost explode lol

The 'DJ' was some random guy standing in the bar-area with a laptop playing music and in the back was a large screen that showed random images or the MVs of the songs ... The room was maybe 10x10m and had 3 high tables with high chairs to sit on and the rest of the place was the dancefloor

Clubs are not for chatting. The music is usually too loud. Clubs are for dancing or prowling. The largest club I've been to was Marquee at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. I don't feel out of place in clubs, but other club goers are usually put off by my demeanor because I'm INTP.

My rule of thumb while clubbing: Drink but NEVER GET DRUNK, especially if you're not going with a group of friend and have at least 1 person who you know have your back.

If you're going with a group of close friends who you know are people you can trust, I guess you can be a bit more relax.

Don't be the only sober person in your group otherwise you're gonna have to take care of the drunks.

Of course when I was younger in the 80's and 90's. Now I'm too old for that crap and prefer just quiet nights at home plus I don't drink very often.

Yes - My advise is to have fun and leave it at the Club.

Avoid Drunk Driving situations. Plan ahead and get a safe Hotel Room to sleep it off. Park your Car at the Hotel and take a Cab to and from the Club. Going with others can do a Group Hotel room crashing. XD

Yes. I see a lot of what to watch out for or why they don’t like it posted here but it can be a fun experience, especially if you love to dance. I love to dance!

It can be a lot of fun with your friends, especially when you have a group.

If you are not drinking or are the DD or whatever, let the bartender know when you are ordering and they usually treat the non drinker kindly and keep your water or soft drink refilled fast. (I’ve been a bartender!)

Be nice to your bartender.

I’d echo everyone here to exercise common sense. Don’t go places alone, don’t drink anything someone gives you, mind your drink and watch out for people with wandering hands and crotches.

If you bump into a guy, they will think you want to get their attention. Even tho it’s obviously just a crowded ass dance floor. So annoying.

Make sure you stay hydrated because it can be hot and sweaty in there.

Minimize the amount of stuff you carry to make it easier.

Too real, I have the highest alcohol tolerance so I always end up having to be the mom.

it’s like going to a concert so just try to enjoy the experience, it can be fun, esp if you enjoy dancing.

there’s usually someone in the bathroom who helps everyone, if he/she helps you, it’s nice to give them a cash tip.

dance near your friends or near girls if you can, if someone tries to grab you or mess with you and you don’t like it, and if they don’t stop when you tell them to stop, spill your drink on them or act like you tripped and knee them in the crotch. if they follow you around and even outside, just scream. seriously. if you can get to the bar, ask for an angel shot and the bartenders know what that means.

Wow too much tipping, better stay at home lmao

I mean, I personally enjoyed it, but again, it really depends on the person. I haven't gone in quite some time, since before the pandemic began and wouldn't do it now (because of the crowds) but in more normal times, I didn't quite mind it. I usually stuck to my group of friends, and just dance and have a couple of drinks - only enough to get me tipsy, never drunk. The one time a creepy man tried something, I was able to pull a pretty decent stink face so that he walked away almost immediately. So, there's that.

But like everyone told you (and you probably already went anyway, but just advice for the future) - be careful, be aware of your surroundings, stick to your friends and since you don't drink, look out for your friends who are drinking. Trust your instincts and don't walk away from your group of friends on your own.
