How twisted do you have to be to take a normal performance as objectification of women? [this is meant to be rhetorical in case some one misses my point]
(For reference: I’m referring to the Fast Pace performance in the Power of Love online concert)
I don’t understand how this person and a few Knets came to the conclusion that this performance is objectifying women..? The performance is in no way using the professional dancers as accessories, they simply doing their job, and getting paid for it. Like one person said in the comments; These are probably the same people who had no problem when Seventeen did a similar concept for Light A Flame with men, but when it’s done with women, they are seen as “objects” and not artists taking part in the performance. People forget that it’s done consensually, they wouldn’t be working with Seventeen if they didn’t want to be there. It’s only problematic, if people nitpick and twist it to fit that narrative, and that really seems like “you” problem. A lot of people are aware of how women are treated, especially in the entertainment industry, and it should be talked about. But, honestly, the way this person went about this is just not it, nor appropriate. It’s honestly counterproductive and seems like superficial feminism on their part. To frankly put it, it seems like an attempt to defame Seventeen. It also showcases their selective memory as it seems like they forgot how the dancers literally got their own limelight at the end, with Seventeen just letting them reign the stage as a thanks for their hard work.
