Every time a controversy of any nature emerges, we always run to stan twitter to see how it's being perceived by our own fandom and maybe other people - we stumble upon people from different fandoms talking about it in the qrts for example. It's natural, we always want to read other people's points of view on the matter. However, we all know that most of the time stan twitter is a place of deranged people and antis who have nothing better to do, which makes us naively believe that everyone from the fandom behaves like that.
And that's when things get weird, because we end up perceiving AKP users the same way. I'm not referring to any fandom in particular, but it's very obvious and everyone should have in mind that fandoms are not monoliths and we do not share the same opinion. I've seen people here throwing accusations towards other fandoms based on what they had seen on twitter. I've seen AKP fandoms being thrown under the bus because of stan twitter. Hell, I have even had accusations thrown at me due to whatever my fandom said or happened years ago like I- it does't even make sense. Not all of us are well informed about what our fandom does on stan twitter.
AKP is paradise compared to stan twitter and it's very well moderated. So can we please start distinguishing AKP people from stan twitter or stop bringing up stuff that was said on that platform to validate our point during an argument? If we have a problem with something that happens on stan twitter, let's try to keep things in there.
