I always wondered, why didn’t Chaeyeon debut in Itzy

If Lia didn’t debut in itzy y’all would have said itzy lack a main vocalist and it’s just a dance group But If the shoe fits

I miss seeing siblings in group like with Crayon Pop twins. It would have been nice to see them interact on stage more than the special collabs they get!

Because Chaeyeon left JYPE. She was no longer in JYPE even when the Stray Kids survival was going on.

You can see most of ITZY (and Mashiro and Mako) in the female debut team or in the practice room in episode 1 of Stray Kids, but Chaeyeon was already out of JYPE at that point.

She was gone before ITZY was even being thought about.

Maybe she wanted a quicker chance at debuting?

from what I heard from various sources JYP didn't want to debut both sisters and chaeyeon quit JYP after that since she wanted to give her sister a shot of debuting...and that's why she left

JYP didnt like her visual.

Actually on JYP's standards Chaeryeong is a bit better in dancing than Chaeyeon. During Kpop star and Sixteen its obvious JYP likes Chaeryeong's style more. She's a lot more groovier than her twin sister. JYP style probably clicked better with Chaeryeong than Chaeyeon.
